    i did somem to day.

Hello Room:      I got motivated today. Walked 10 min. on the tread mill at 2.5mph.  I feel good when i work out.   I have been in a funk for the last 2 weeks.  Today i exercised. and feel better because i did.  I don't know. I have been on Alli for 4 Weeks now. I am managing to stay with the eating program for the most part. I do eat healthier  now.  i lost 8 lbs so far. gained 2 lbs of that back but i still kept off 6lbs though. I have to look at what i have accomplish not as much as how much i weigh right now.  I am about to drive myself crazy with do this and don't do thats. Am i doing this right am i doing that right.  Changes even good changes causes anxiety attacks for me. Maybe when i get into a good routine i will settle down with the anxiety of new changes.  Sound strange but it  is true.  Thanks for listening.  Brenda

    Hi Brenda:

I'm so glad that you're motivated again.  It is also good that you're doing your exercises.  Exercise, as you know, is a stress reliever.  It is hard to adjust to a lifestyle change, even though you know it is the right thing to do.  It sounds as if you get stressed easily.  May I make a suggestion.  Take five minutes every day to meditate.  It will work wonders for you.  Go into a quiet place alone where you will not be interupted.  Get into a comfortable position.  Close your eyes and try to clear your mind.  It helps to recite a 'mantra'..(any word that end with the mmm sound...ummm, bum,,,,rum....) for several seconds...this might sound weird if you are new to meditation but it will help relax you.  Now visualize yourself at your goal...mentally encourage yourself, reaffirm your confidence in your abiity to achieve your lifestyle changes, reenforce your motivation by focusing on your successes.  Five minutes is all it takes, and you will be surprised at how much better your day will go.  We are all in this together.  We can make it.

Hey Brenda.. that exercising does help a LOT! I've been in a funk too.. but it seems to raise my spirits when I hit the gym or take the dog out. My first 3 weeks I had only lost 6-7 lbs.. then my fourth week I exercised and lost another 6 lbs! Ever since then, the gym has been my best friend! :P

    Good luck.

An elementary teacher in Knoxville asked her students who their favorite team was for the big game coming up. Jimmy said- Well.. daddy is a tigers fan.. mama is a tigers fan.. so that makes me a tigers fan The teacher went to him and said- Jimmy.. if your daddy was a moron and your mom was an idiot.. what would that make you? Jimmy replied- A vols fan
