    Re: Fast food and Alli

Hey Gottaloseit!  I thought your post was funny as #@!!

I had my first "oil spill" today.  I ate one slice of Sbarro's pizza at the mall and that was all she wrote!  Happily, mine did not have the volume that it sounds like you had!  Hearing your story I now will never be able to look at a Whopper the same.  Thanks for that.

Hang in there but try not to squeeze the charmin so hard!

    Re: Fast food and Alli

We all have had that kind of day, if not on this eating plan on others, or we would not be here.  All I can say is try again tomorrow and don't beat yourself up.  Just tell yourself,  the next time I find myself there I will make a healthier choice.

    Re: Fast food and Alli

I was on a road trip and we had to stop to eat.. the only thing around was fast food. I ordered two chicken sandwiches and ate just the chicken patty with ketchup (no buns) and I had no TE. Might try that next time... For the side item, I got a fruit cup.

We are all human and we all have our ups and downs. Just do not put yourself down, just start your next day with a better  knowledge of what can happen.  Stay Strong and be proud of yourself no matter what!

I like BettyKovac's answer...I don't think we should be saying "shame on you" and making a person feel bad on a diet board, especially after a person has experienced treatment effects.  Isn't that punishment enough?

    Re: Fast food and Alli

I agree - and I admire Gottaloseit's honesty.  Good grief, do we really need to be so judgmental/sanctimonious.  If we were all perfect, we wouldn't be here in the first place, would we?  Haven't we all splurged from time to time.  Perhaps not two burgers, but some chocolate???  Ice cream??  etc.  Let's not begin "judging" each other and using words such as "good" and "bad."   Besides, if we hear tales like Gottaloseit's oil spill, we'll be more apt to watch our own fat intake.  Let's keep the judgments OUT of these discussion boards and be supportive and helpful.  Let's also recognize that most of us will "slip" from time to time.

Today is my first day looking at the online tools with Alli.  I want you to know that I applaude you for being honest about your experience with Alli.  We all will be able to learn from your experience.  Don't ever hesitate sharing your experience with those of us that are new to the program.

Gottaloseit, Hey thanks for the sharing the whopper experience. Mental note no Whoppers!!!!! I really wanted taco bell the other day. I work alot of  hours thru the week and the last thing I want to do is cook. But I went home and made my own low fat chicken tacos. I have also found that some of the Healthy Choice dinners are low in fat. So next time Im tierd Im going to cook one of those. Im trying really hard to stay away from fastfood. But Its hard. Beckie

    Re: Fast food and Alli

Everyone slips up from time to time. If you are going to slip up and it has to be a Whopper then get the Whopper Jr and the small fries. That would total 620 calories and 33 grams of fat. That may or may not cause "effects" but at least you can overcome the calories by cutting down a little at your next meal. There is just no way to compensate for gorging on two full sized Whoppers and a large order of fries. You have basically ruined your week or at least 1/2 of the week in 10 minutes of stupidity.

    Re: Fast food and Alli

oh wow!  I just checked this thread... You know... I truly was being "humorous" with my comment.. I sure didn't mean to be "judgemental".. or critical.  It's interesting that people read things the way they want to read things... I didn't have a "smiley" face.. or a "lol"... or whatever I needed to be humorous.. and wow! I got a shoe up my rear!  I truly wasn't being judgemental... however, maybe some people were being judgemental about me...  I'm sure the person who begin this thread.. appreciates your stepping up in their defense... for what appeared to some as criticism.  Again.... forgive me all.  And please .. know that you have freedom to eat as many whoppers as you would like..  there is no condemnation ... you are free.. free indeed!

    Re: Fast food and Alli

Wow! You had two Whoppers and fries!? You must've been curious about TE's and just wanted to experience them....I can imagine what kind of experience that must've been.

I think it's important for us to realize that although there are certain foods that it may be best to enjoy in moderation, this should not be about deprivation. There are certainly extremes. Eating carrots and lettuce all day, every day is one extreme...it's not enough. Eating two Whoppers and fries is another extreme...way too much, alli or no alli...
