    Need help for breakfast

I have to be at work at 6am and I need ideas of what to pack for breakfast. I have a 15 minute break in the morning and I have to have something that I can either microwave or toast quickly. I don't have time in the morning to cook something to take, it must be either ready to go or I can fix it the night before and re-heat. I am new to alli and I have had trouble staying with diets in the past. I can use all the help and support I can get!

    Re: Need help for breakfast

    Littething,

I get up at 4a.m. and get to work about 530a.m. I ususally eat breakfast around 8. I take two hard boiled eggs to work with me, cut them in half, remove the yolk, and eat only the egg whites.  Then I usually have a non-fat Activa (Strawberry) or an apple or banana or both. This usually last me for a couple of hours.  I try to eat the banana or apple at least an hour apart.  Eggs are something you can do the night before. You don't even have to heat them up.  They last unpealed for up to one week.  Hope this helps.

    Re: Need help for breakfast

My schedule is similar to yours...  I take Trader Joe's frozen oatmeal, single serving, along with a plastic bowl, heat in microwave when I get to work, 3 mins.  Filling and dee-lish.  Bring apples, one with oatmeal, the other mid-morning.  Also have Cascadian Farms or Nature Valley breakfast bars in my desk drawer, again, with fruit.  Drink 32 oz water before lunch.  Some mornings lately I need protein.  Make turkey burger patty the night before, bring to work, eat slowly with high-grain bread.  Hard-boiled eggs:  eat one with yolk, need more protein, remove yolk and eat as is or fill with hummus.

    Re: Need help for breakfast

I was just wondering if it would hurt to put 1 or 2 packets of splenda in the oatmeal. I love oatmeal, but can't handle it plain.

    Thanks

    Re: Need help for breakfast

Well actually i dont use splenda i read that it was bad for you so i usually buy flavor oatmeal for example

1)apples and cinnamon lower sugar 1 packet has 110 calories and 1.5 fat grams and i usually add bananas to it

2)strawberries and cream i packet has 130 calories and 2.5 grams of fat.

for mu breakfast if i eat oatmeal i do one of this packets with one banana a glass of oj and sometimes a piece of cinnamon bread  and im good until lunch time and drinks lots of water in between meals so you can fill full hope that helps

    Re: Need help for breakfast

Try instant sugar free oatmeal which has 100 calories and a banana with low fat milk.  I have this every morning at work, I too have to be in work at 6am and have no time in the morning to prepare something healthy.  I also have a fiber one bar on the way to work, I commute a half hour so this works out good for me.  Hope this helps.

    Re: Need help for breakfast

If your supermarket carries them, Uncle Wally's fat-free muffins have been a Godsend.  I love the blueberry ones and they have 220 cal & 0g fat each!  You could put one in a ziploc or wrap in plastic wrap and be on your way.  If you get or have a food scale, you could measure out a bowl of cereal and put it in a baggie and take it with you.

I love splenda. It doesn't give the weird taste like some of those other sweetener. People always say that those things are bad for you...my thought is "so is the air we breath and we really can't stop doing that"

    Re: Need help for breakfast

I usually have instant sugar free oatmeal with either a banana or yogurt.  There have been times where I did have a bagel with low fat cream cheese on it.  Or I have had crackers with low fat/salt cheese.  On any type of diet you are suppose to have a big breakfast compared to any of your other meals.

    Re: Need help for breakfast

Here are 2 things I have found.

1.) Weight watchers muffins-- they are tasty and esy to take along.

2.)  Ego nutrigrain waffles  they are toaster things and easy.  They taste really good too.  You can take along a little sugar free syrup.   It is ready in no time and can easily be taken with you.  Put a piece of fruit with either of these ideas and you should be good to go and held over until your next meal.  momma2dog

    Re: Need help for breakfast

What I have been doing is take a english muffin that you can toast at work, I also keep a small tub of fat free cream cheese in the fridge at work. I normally eat half a muffin with 1 tsp of cream cheese and that is enough to keep me going.

For a light snack I recently bought herbed wheat tortillas that I smeared with 1 tsp of dijon masyo and with 2 thin slices of spiced deli turkey meat.

Hope that help since putting all the above together is simple.
