Re: ALLI SCAM. IS IT TRUE

If Alli is a scam, then I better go back to wearing my size 16 pants.....instead of all the size 10 jeans that I'm wearing.  If Alli is a scam, then I better ask The Goodwill that I need all my 1X and 2X clothing returned.  If Alli is a scam, then I better return my scale back to Target and tell them that the scale doesn't work properly, it shows that I weigh 166, instead of 206 pounds.  If Alli is a scam, then I better tell my family and my co-workers that they need to stop messing with my mind when they tell me that I look better.  If Alli is a scam, then I better take my doctor's advice that I need beriatric surgery.  If Alli is a scam, then I should go back to feeling hopeless of ever being back to a "normal" weight.  If Alli is a scam, then....... I'm going to stick with this plan........'cause I feel so good!

I can only speak for myself, but I really feel that there is so much negative publicity about how people experience terrible treatment effects with Alli.  I'm not saying that I've never experienced a treatment effects.....I have....twice since last August.   I didn't follow the plan.  I ate some foods that were high in fat!  I felt discomfort, I had loose bm's, I saw orange oily spots in the toilet.....but......that was my fault.  I thought to myself, Alli really works!  All that fat that I saw in the toilet, would have been absorbed in my body if the pill was not working.  After a couple of treatment effects, I became much more careful about what I ate.  I think those experiences  really helped me to stay on target.  I'm much more careful with what I choose to eat.

If it sounds like I'm passionate my Alli experience, I am.

    Best wishes to all,

    Sue

Re: ALLI SCAM. IS IT TRUE

As far as Alli being a scam, I'd have to say no. Since I've been on Alli, I have lost 42 lbs. You cannot just take the pill alone and keep eating all the junk with no exercise and expect it to work. You have to change your eating and exercise habits to see the results. The pill is just supposed to help you block extra fat after you've already committed to the low-fat eating and the exercise. For the people who are complaining about Alli, they probably were not ready to commit to the whole lifestyle change.(And there may be some who, for whatever reason, have some type of body chemistry that Alli just doesn't work for.) But from what I've read on these message boards, there are plenty of us who have lost a significant amount of weight because of Alli.

Re: ALLI SCAM. IS IT TRUE

Thank you Sue for your testimony.  It really helps me to feel better about taking Alli.

Taking Alli has really made me consider what I put in my mouth.   I have been on Alli for 5 days.  Yes I have had orange spots, today as a matter of fact for the first time.  I know what I ate was a bit over the top. I was glad to see the orange spots.  It lets me know that Alli is working.

I will continue to fight this "fat war" with everything I have. Alli seems to be a good weapon of choice.

And congrats on your weight lost.

Re: ALLI SCAM. IS IT TRUE

Hi! I just thought I would share my alli experiences thus far. First of all let me make it clear that I am not saying alli is a scam. Unfortunately I might not ever know if it really does work because it seems I can't take it.

My start weight back on July 21, 2008 was 297. I decided I had to do something, so armed with all my knowlege I had gained from over the years, I started eating healthy all on my own. I gave up all sweets,my weakness, soda's, even the diet's, and I started eating a lot of lean ground turkey, versus red meat, & chicken. I got down to 270 {without any exercize, which I am very bad at but hope to change soon} One project at a time! <Smile>

When I heard about alli's program I figured I was at the perfect place to try it. I was already into eating healthy and losing weight. I figured alli will give my, already in progress, weight loss a boost.

So here is my experience with it. I did exactly what they said. I eased into it starting with one pill a day then 2. Even tried 3 but went back to 2 because I found I wasn't eating heavy enough at night to warrant a 3rd pill. I found that my weight loss while on it had slowed down. That was OK, but then I started getting stomach pains at the end of the first week. At the end of week two I almost went into the emergency room with severe stomach pains. Not having any Ins. I stopped taking the pills and rode it out. It has taken a couple of weeks but now my stomach is OK. I am figuring that the alli pills irritated my stomach lining. I went on these blog boards and found other's had experienced the same as me. And alli also warns of stomach pains as a side affect. I had never had any 'treatment affects' while on it. But then I didn't really expect to since I was doing everything they suggested.

I have been off the pills since Oct. 1 and stayed with my healthy eating habits. I have lost another 11 lb. and down to 259. For the 2 weeks I was on alli I had lost 3.5 lb. So this clearly shows me that I can do it on my own with no pills if I just continue to eat healthy. I can only imagine that when I kick my butt to get into a regular exercize program that I will lose even more.

So because of my reaction to alli I had to stop taking it and now stuck with spending that good amount of money on a product I can't use. I don't see any money back guarantee on it. Maybe I missed it?

So with that I want to wish everyone good luck and good health. Keep doing whatever works for you. Just listen to your body. It will tell you what you can and can't do. Take care all and God Bless!   ~Pam~ 0:-)

Re: ALLI SCAM. IS IT TRUE

I love this thread for lots of reasons, but mainly because I heard from so many of the "old-timers".  I'm glad everyone is continuing to do so well.  Count me among you, 56 pounds gone and at goal weight.  I can live like this, we all can.  The main message here is read the literature and follow the program, it's that simple.  Good luck.

Re: ALLI SCAM. IS IT TRUE

     Hi Healtywt!

I'm glad I was able to help you.   Alli is the best!  Unfortunetly, I stopped taking Alli because I started to lose some of my hair.  (I've read other comments about this topic.)  I just want to see if some of hair will grow back.   Well, to make matters worse, I've gained some of my weight back (my own fault).  I talked to my primary doctor and told him about my weight loss with Alli and my loss of hair.  He told me some other reasons that could be the source of my hair loss.  I'm getting everything checked out to rule out Alli.  If everything is okay I'm going back on Alli.   I really want to get back to losing weight, not gaining weight.  I guess I let some of those old habits return.   I not happy about my weight gain.....about ten pounds!  Darn!!!

I wish you much success in your weight loss.  It doesn't really matter what healthy weight loss method we choose to lose our weight......as long as we get the pounds off.  Right?

Thank you for helping me reconsider the path I was taking.  (I don't have anymore of my old clothes.....so I guess I just have to lose the weight!  Hee hee hee.....)

Re: ALLI SCAM. IS IT TRUE

I am down 23 lbs started my 3rd bottle, I think people who say its a scam are afraid to try it so they make you think its a scam, just remember the weight just don't fall out you have to work on it really, You have to decide the right choice in food and drink, not just saying oh the pill will do the rest you still have to work on things, exercise, for me its riding my bike and walking. i  don't get to walk much now with the time change, but then I walk after lunch during the week, I also work in doctors office so I do get some extra walking, so you have to decide wither your ready or do you want to think its a scam. I don't I started out at 220 and now I am 196 who is scam who? They are not scaming me, even the drug store  where i buy my alli has noticed the difference my phy when I got  a physical even noticed the difference and he stated that my alli was a safe and effective way to lose my weight.

I buy my Alli supply on Ebay, it averages $35 dollars per 120 tablets.  There's great reading here on the site, also; the one on "Why you need to reach your fat grams" by the Dietician is critical.  Good luck!  Tampabayb

Re: ALLI SCAM. IS IT TRUE

If Alli Is a Scam then the 93 lbs I have lost is a dream. I dont think the FDA would approve something  itf this was a scam. its all about putting in the work. In order for alli to do what its suppose to do YOU have to do the work. which isnt that hard. Low fat diet and exercise. I know for me my exercise consists of Going up and down four flights of stairs not by choice. I dance around the house. There are people that I know that arent on Alli that work out Seven days a week 3 to 4 hrs at a gym and maybe lose 10 lbs. I dont work out 7 days a week 3 to 4 hrs my routine is simple I am comfortable with my work out  I even use 8 lbs weights to tone up my arms. My Biggest issue is sit ups Hate em wish I didnt have to do them.

Re: ALLI SCAM. IS IT TRUE

I've been on/off Alli since the get go ... I've lost, gained, lost .. well I'm trying to lose once again.  This is a great post ... the public need to come HERE to read how well folks are doing and have done since taking Alli instead of going to "off" sites/blogs where people will bash anything they don't understand.

It's not a miracle pill .. never claimed to be ... it's also FDA approved, that has to attest to something.  It's not for everyone but you have to have the willpower for anything to work .. just not sure where mine went !!

Re: ALLI SCAM. IS IT TRUE

I lost 83 pounds in about 9 months.  If Alli is a scam,  its a good scam and not a bad one.  I've gained about 5 pounds back, but its muscle.  I work out with weights about 3 nights a week.  Its really starting to show too.  I've been in maintenance for about 6 months.  I'm basically a new person in a new body.
