    Egg Confusion

I love eggs.  Soooo... I looked on Calorieking.com to find the fat content to see how I can fit them into my breakfast.  But I'm super confused about the info, and wanted to see if anyone else saw this or has some input...

It says that one egg, large, raw has 5g of fat.  But one egg, large, fried, NO FAT ADDED, has 7g.  Whats up with that?  If theres no fat added, then how did the fried one get more fat???

I just want to have an egg!!!

    Thanks for any help!

    Re: Egg Confusion

I buy the Eggland's Best Large Eggs and they are 4 grams of fat per egg. They are SO good.

    Re: Egg Confusion

I use the egglands best too - they are really good.  I have also tried the better than eggs three cheese - much more flavor than eggbeaters with only 1g of fat!

    Re: Egg Confusion

I have been spraying Pam in a small bowl and put an egg (4.5 fat) in the bowl and break the yolk to microwave for 45-50 seconds. Then toast an english muffin (1 fat) with canadian bacon 4 slices (1.5 fat) add slice of cheese (3 fat) and this comes in around 10-12 grams of fat which is where my target is for alli.  This makes me feel full and satisfied.

    Re: Egg Confusion

    HI

I am pretty sure i am weighing in late pardon the pun, but if you go to mycaloriecounter.com you can put in any food and it will give you every count you need.  Calorie content, Fat content, Saturated Fat, Oils.  I use it every day.

    Hope it helps!!

    Re: Egg Confusion

I've also tried using CalorieKing for help but also dealt with confusion.  I prefer KelpieSoft and use it as a supplement when the item I'm eating, or cooking with doesn't provide the nutrition info (example, a slice of pizza).  Most, if not, all egg cartons have the nutrition info printed inside (remember there's a difference for large, jumbo, medium, etc.).  I buy my eggs at Pathmark and the large eggs have 70 cal, 4.5g fat and 6g pro each.  So when I make scrambled eggs, I use one whole egg and 2 whites (something about just egg whites I can't get over).  The egg whites would be (per KelpieSoft) 17 cal, .06g fat and 3.6g pro.  So depending on what else you had for breakfast, you could eat 3 eggs scrambled (1 whole & 2 whites) and stay within your limits.  Hope this helped.
