    I like a boring breakfast.

I am just beginning to explore alli.  The diet looks good.  In the morning I am not up to innovation..  Just 2 slices of whole wheat toast buttered, some honey or cinnimon And black coffee.  I could eat oatmeal, with splenda sometimes.  Is that a plan?

Sure, you can have your oatmeal, just depends what you use to make it (I have an aunt who uses condensed milk!)  I'm not a fan of oatmeal myself, but Farina (or cream of wheat to some) made with fat-free milk instead of water also works well and cooks up in a jiff.  Welcome to Alli & good luck! :-)

I like an uncomplicated b-fast too.  Right now my favorite is 2 multi-grain eggos. I use light syrup (1/8 cup). That's 190 cal./2.5g. fat. If I want to bulk it up a little I add a teaspoon of peanut butter to each waffle. That adds 60 cal./5g fat. Quick and easy.

I'm boring too!  I eat a waffle w/syrup, a kiwi, and a glass of milk almost everyday.  On the weekends its usually a banana, a handful of peanuts, and a glass of milk.  This is a little bit more fat than the plan calls for, but I even it out the rest of the day.  I don't like think too much in the morning, so I just kind of go on auto pilot.  Just do what works for you!

Re: I like a boring breakfast.

If you are eating so light for breakfast, how are you meeting your fat/calorie requirements?

During the week, DH and I both eat a Lender's frozen cinnamon raisin bagel, toasted, a Tablespoon of butter and 8oz of 1% milk. It comes in right at 15g of fat and 400 calories.

We have coffee too and use part of the milk to put in the coffee.

On the weekends, we make eggbeaters(x3) omelets with 2% cheese(x2) and have 8oz of 1%milk. That comes in at 14g of fat and 350 calories.

Again,we use part of the milk for our coffee.

Re: I like a boring breakfast.

I was wondering how you are meeting your requirements too. For breakfast I will usually either eat a wheat bagel with Strawberry cream cheese with coffee and fat free creamer and splenda. Or 2 waffles with light butter and light syrup. Or a breakfast burrito made with 2 eggs worth of eggbeaters and a slice of turkey bacon with ff cheese and taco sauce on a wheat tortilla. Only takes about 5 minutes to cook and soo yummy.

Re: I like a boring breakfast.

I don't have time to make a fancy breakfast. I have to be out of my house at 6:45am Mon-Fri. So I usually eat those Jimmy D-lights sandwiches. 7 grams I think and a tall glass of soy milk. 4 more grams.

Sometimes I have two packs of instant oatmeal but it's like 2 grams of fat each. I just always try to add soy milk or flaxseed to stuff.
