    Re: My Daughter and I

Hello, I am a faithful slimfast drinker. I drink a slimfast for breakfast which is 180 calories and 6 fat grams, I also drink a dannon immunity drink which is 90 calories and 1.5 fat grams and a blueberry or strawberry wheat cereal bar which is 140 calories and 3 fat grams. I can have 1200 calories a day and 12 fat grams per meal. I don't always eat 12 fat grams per meal but I don't eat more than 12 fat grams..  Slim fast works good for me. I will occasionaly drink a slimfast for lunch and eat a yogurt with it and an apple... I needed a boost and i have a friend who inspired me to believe in alli too...God Bless Your Hero Son. My brother returned home from Irag last November and is now in Korea for his last two years then he says he is retiring from the Army with 20 years proud service. My dad  served in the army for 27 years and we proudly sent him home to serve in God's army April 8, 2006...  we support our troops indeed..

    Re: My Daughter and I

Hi Rabbit4me...sounds like you don't have as much weight to loose as I do! GREAT! :-)  Even though I'm overweight, I actually stay pretty active.  Because of that, I'm on the 1800cal/19gr targets.  I don't know if I can get used to eating all this food!  I'm eating better, but it's still a lot.  Adjusting my mornings and afternoons has been a struggle but I'm doing it.  And I'm not going near the scale until I'm suppose to.  I just want to see how this really works.  The Slim-Fast with a meal may be an option for me though.  Thanks for the info.

Your message had me in tears this morning.  Don't feel bad, that happens a lot lately.  My son, all of 17, graduated high school early, enlisted and shipped out on 11/26/07.  He's finishing his MOS school, which is infanty God bless him, on 5/6/08.  What a journey it has been so far.  My father served in Vietnam through the Army and my brother had eight years in the Navy.  Twenty years?!  That's wonderful.  Please tell your brother thank you...thank you for his sacrficies and services.  Our country is so very fortunate to have young men like him.  And may your father rest in peace.  War time or not, the fact that they serve knowing the possibilities makes each and every one of them special!  Thank you for your continued support of our troops!

On a lighter note, when my son came home from boot camp, he left me his go-fasters (that's Marine for tennis shoes) and his head brush (the brush used to scrub the bathroom-gross).  The brush is so precious though because the top is wooden and he wrote little motivational notes in marker.  He wrote his platoon number, the day he received his PFC promotion, "One shot, one kill", little things like that.  Well, I put that brush and those go-fasters on a shelf in THE treadmill room.  When I got on last night, I so didn't want to walk and kept telling myself "you can stop now...no one will know!"  Then I'd look up and see those go-fasters and say "NO...the least you can do is finish 30 minutes.  For all the sacrifices my son is making, I can make this small sacrifice and loose some weight!"  I'm sure he'd laugh if he knew his old worn out go-fasters and nasty head brush were responsible for helping me loose weight!  Whatever works right?

Please keep us posted on your success!  Best wishes...

    Re: My Daughter and I

You are such a help to my daughter and an encouragement to all. Hey if those go-fasters and brush do it for you then they are a part of you fitness routine.  I'm proud to say I have lost 5lbs this week. I've been really concentrating on what and when and where I'm eating.  I'm basically doing Lean Cousine and  other low fat meals. I find doing the already prepared foods and working really works out great.  This next week I'm going to do my best to incorporate some canned fruits and more vegetables. I've never been a fruit eater.  The only fruit I really like is bananas.  But I do like canned fruits. so I'm buying the ones in lite syrup.  I'm trying to change my eating habits a little each week.  So far no bad side effects from the Alli. I do have trouble geting enough of the fat grams.  I'm doing lots better staying away from sweets.  I'm not exercising at all the way I should so I need to work on that also.  It seems by the time I get home there is no time to exercise.  That is a poor excuse!!  I need to get with it.  Tell you son also that we are proud of him and thank him also for his service.  My husband also was a Vietnam Vet also.  He did 3 tours in Naum.
