    100-calorie packs

I think I've posted about 100-calories pack before, but I just gotta say it again....TRY THESE, PEOPLE!! ha! They have salty and sweet packs; there is actually about 2 servings per bag, and most have 4 or less grams of fat in them. (You have to watch the carbs, though, some are higher than others). I stock up on these whenever they're on sale, and they're perfect for staving off chocolate cravings AND salty cravings (what I get).

    Peace!

Okay, will give it a try.  Maybe it will help keep the candy monster at bay.

    Thanks.

    Re: 100-calorie packs

I've been eating these lately too.  They're AMAZING lol.  Some of the cookie ones are actually better than regular cookies.  Same with the chips.  Did you know that they have 100 calorie puddings, chocolate chip muffins, and snack cakes too?  They're all really good.  I really like the cheeto ones, the teddy grahams, and the puddings.  I will be sure to watch out for the carbs though thanks!

    Re: 100-calorie packs

I live by 100 calorie packs.  They are great!!  The other day I found 100 calorie canned fruit.  Peaches and pears.  Small little cans, but just the right amount for lunch or a snack.  I know that fresh fruit is the best option, but these are great for winter when peaches and pears are not available.

My kids get them in their lunches, and they are great for car trips.  Everyone has something they like, and we stay away from the garbage in the gas stations and fast food restaurants.

    Re: 100-calorie packs

I decided to jump on this bandwagon and bought 100 calorie packs of Mini Fudge Strips this weekend. They are wonderful!  I have resisted buying them b/c I know I could save some $$ if I could just follow serving size recommendations, but since that rarely happens, hopefully this will help me get my sweet fix w/o eating a whole box.

Hi I've been buying 100 cal. packs for couple years. They are great for my lunch. And in the evening when I need that crunch.  I love the mint chocolate ones.    Cathy

    Re: 100-calorie packs

I try not to buy too many. Yes they can be expensive and if I have too many around, I feel like I need to eat more of them.

So I have narrowed it down to my favorites only:

    100 calorie Chocolate Hostess Cupcakes

100 calorie Mister Salty Chocolate Covered Pretzels

I must not be the only one who like these because they are sold out alot at my grocery store.

    Re: 100-calorie packs

Ok...you go gal!  Boy, have these been a lifesaver for me!  I am Italian, and Italians (at least my family!) ALWAYS....ALWAYS...ended our meal with something sweet.... cakes or cookies, sometimes fruit and nuts, so EVERY TIME I EAT, I have to have something sweet.  The 100 Cal packs of chocolate creme filled cupcakes are yummy, so I have one, then I immediately have a piece of Altoids sugar free cinnamon gum, and my mouth feels so fresh, I really don't want to nosh on anything else for a couple of hours. Ok, I've almost reached my goal (lost 23 lbs, got 5 to go) but Alli & sensible eating & these low cal/fat snacks are helping me maintain my weight, even in these tough, fun summer months coming up, I hope!  R

    Re: 100-calorie packs

I just started alli and since I've been trying hard to lose weight (cw - 191, goal - 150) I've been experimenting by using the 100 calorie pack mentality without the huge price.  If you can't find the items on sale, then making up your own isn't a bad idea... I use those little snack ziplock bags to put 100 calories worth of stuff in.  Grapes, raisins, goldfish crackers, cereal, etc.  It makes things cheaper, I can take the bags with me to work or just keep a few in my car or purse (well, maybe not the grapes!) and that way I can snack without too much guilt.

    Re: 100-calorie packs

I hate to post this because everyone seems to love their 100 calorie packs... but they really aren't very good for you. You all seem to be focused on the calories more than what you're actually eating. Check the ingredients on those snack packs and most likely you will find enriched bleach flower, sometimes high fructose corn syrups, partially hydrogenated oils.. a lot of ingredients that are just really bad for you! I mean, they may be helping you all lose weight but not necesarily be healthy. And have you all checked the sugar amounts? A lot of them are probably pretty high..

    Just a tip.

    Re: 100-calorie packs

Good point.  The snack packs are really expensive.  I do like the Walmart-brand mini-chocolate chip cookies (still $1.74 for six).  My problem is only one package at a time.

I do make my own trail mix (granola, cashews, peanuts, raisins, craisins) and put it in the little snack-size baggies.  1/4 c = 150 cal, 7g fat.

I think I'll try this with goldfish, mini-rice cakes, cereal, etc.  It should save me some money, plus I'll have some extra snacks on hand for my kids. (less stops at the corner store).

    Thanks for the great idea.
