Alli, I want to tell you that for many years I have been exposed to all the weigh-loss programs and quick weigh-loss fixes that made my head spin. I have wanted to drop a few pounds and eat healthier but always came up with an excuse. Until the 2007 holiday season I finally realized that I have gradually went over the 200 pound mark in my wieght gain and decided that that was my breaking point. Hi Alliboy,

Congratulations on your success! I have to ask about the rate that you lost your weight. The goal is to lose 1 to 3 lbs per week, after the first couple of weeks. I don't know how much you have to lose, but 30 lbs in 6 weeks is a bit high. It's really important to stick with your recommended amount of calories. When you lose too quickly you end up losing more muscle instead of fat. I don't mean to rain on your parade. I just want to be sure that you are doing this the healthiest way possible.

Wow!!!  That's great!!  I wish you all the continued success.  I too look at food in a whole different light.  My family grew up with every event in our household revolving around food.  I sometimes still look at my family events with fond memories and wonder how I wasn't an obese child.  I guess it is true, it all catches up eventually.
