Reached my first goal.( how good it feels )

I started on 3-12-08 sw- 220 my first goal was to get to 209 and I did it on my 3rd weigh in which is today. I weigh 204,( PRAISE THE LORD ) now I started a new goal of 194 So now my cw-204 gw-194. my final goal weigh is between 140-160 AND I'LL be tickled pink. I have chronic asthma and I take all kind of breathing medacation and I find it really hard to do the simplest little things, the only exercise I do is walk so what I'm trying to say is can someone give me some easy but good exercises that I could do without having to use my inhaler, THANK YOU VERY MUCH.                                                                                                  DENISE

    Hi Denise,

Congratulations on your success! Walking is the number one form of exercise so there is nothing wrong with that being your form of activity. You can ask for some other exercise recommendations on the physical activity board.

    Keep up the great work,

    Betty Kovacs, MS, RD

Re: Reached my first goal.( how good it feels )

Hi Linda, thank you for some in sight with a chair. That sounds like it will be easy to do. Each day I try to walk a house further, I take my little dog Chyna and she loves to walk. Since I have lost a few pds. it seems easier to breath, not by much but I find myself not as short winded. I pray for us both that by loosing this weight we can breath and live much healthier lives, again THANK YOU FOR YOUR HELP.                                                           Denise

Hi Denise:  May I also suggest getting a Pilates DVD.  I am not always able to walk due to different reasons, but the pilates is wonderful. I just love it.  I do the beginner's level and I normally chose 20 minutes and try and do 3 mornings a week.  Most of the dvds that I have seen have different programs that you can chose from like beginners all the way to advance, from 10 minutes up to 45 minutes or an hour.  The one I like most right now is Pilates for Weight Loss.  It has a blonde on the front--I can't remember her name.  I think I bought it at Target for like ten bucks.  I noticed that my stomach muscles are more taunt when I do it.  It's kinda like Yoga, but you not stuck in a position for any length of time.  I am not real flexible, but can get through this pretty easy.

    Good luck!
