    Me - a Role Model ?

tell me it ain't so !!!!  I have a co-worker that has been saying for the last month how good I'm looking ... she'll be walking up the hall and see me at the other end and yell SHER then just give me a thumbs up !!!   She's a hard-working STNA (state tested nurses aides) and does a lot of grunge work in the nursing home (98% of our aides do).

Anyway .. she's been talking about getting on Alli ... last week I gave her a coupon for $10 that I printed out and she was going to go out on Friday (payday) to pick up her first starter kit.  We were chatting today and I asked if she started yet and she said (sad face) No - bills had to come first.  WELLLLL I know all too well about that ... so I said tell ya what.  I have a brand new sealed starter kit in my cupboard ... I'll make you a deal.  You give me $10 a pay (if that's what you can afford)  and the pills/booklets are ours.  She can't believe I would do this fror her - she's a co-worker, a friend .. that's what you do for friends, help when you can.

SOOOOOOOOOO with luck she should be starting the pill next week (we also have a biggest loser challenge going on at work).

    OK .. I've babbled on enough :)  :)

OH yeah .. I got my hair ALL chopped off after work .. wow does my face look different :)

    Hey, Mrs B:

That was so nice of you to do that for your co-worker!  I'll bet you brought tears to her eyes.  So, how do you like your new hair do?

I love my new do - and even though I truly do have the thick, gorgeous, curly hair (naturally) when it grows long and I put it up in a pony tail - I just get head aches because it's so heavy soooo it's going to stay short from here on in (hubby isn't a happy camper )

    Re: Me - a Role Model ?

    Hi Sher

I can remember you had a link to your wedding photo many months ago..atleast that is how I recall the photo, and you had a luscious, thick head of hair! ( I can't recall if you had a purple dresss or white dress on, but i think it was purple)

I think a hair cut is GREAT for the spirit! Cut off (cut out) the old and bring in (adapt to) the new!! Shoulder length or chin length would look very nice on you in my opinion!

Quite often it is eay to "hide" behind hair...I see this as an indicator to your growth and feeling more at ease in your skin. I'm sure you deserve the accolades you are receiving at work. You have always been a life force of suppport and encouragement to SO many here!

Continued success to you and enjoy that new "do!"
    Carol Joy

p.s. I started alli last July with layerd hair down just below my shoulders...now it is like the Posh Spice cut withOUT the over the ear asymetrical thing...I'm not in Hollywood afterall...must modify for the suburbs...lol.

p.p.s I use to do that darn ponytail thing too....NOT attractive at over 40! (Unless ya look like Demi Moore!)

    Pre-Alli: 182lbs
    Alli SW: 180lbs
    Alli CW: 161lbs
    My GW: 152lbs
Goal Date: A.S.A.P.! PLEASE! 9lbs to go!

    Hi Sher,

How could you ever doubt that you were a role model? You have been my mini moderator on here and have members who look forward to your responses. I am sure that there are many members on here who would consider you a role model as well :o)

It sounds like you are enjoying your new look. My mom would never let me have long hair so the minute that I had a say in it I let it grow and have never cut it short again. I love how it looks on other people but am too traumatized to do it my own hair :o)

    Re: Me - a Role Model ?

That is such a wonderful gift to give someone--a new start and new life!

Has it been hard to adjust to short hair? I love to grow my hair out super long and then chop it all off. I have donated my hair 4 times to locks for love, last time it was 16 inches! Now that my hair is growing out I am kind of bored with it.

Congrats on being such an inspiration :-)

    Re: Me - a Role Model ?

When I used to get miffed at my ex-husband (2nd one) I would go chop off all my hair - it accomplished what I set out to do ... make him madder hahaha YES I'm evil.

No it hasn't been hard to adjust to short hair ... my hair is SOOO thick and SOOO curly ... having no hair on my neck is a treat !! :)
