    Re: Pineapple cake

That is the entire recipe. The can of crushed pineapple (not drained) replaces all ingredients the box calls for. Bake it in a bundt pan just like you would the angel food cake, cool upside down just like you normally would.

    Re: Pineapple cake

This was fantastic!!  My new favorite.  I saved 3 tablespoons of pineapple and spread evenly on top and then sprinkled 2 tablespoons of splenda brown on top and it was just wonderful!  Didn't even need coolwhip.

Thanks for telling us about this recipe.

    Re: Pineapple cake

This cake was amazing! OMG like literally, I cannot believe how good this was and that we can eat it :)......Even my fiance liked it, and he is super picky. Trust me when I tell you this is good....I tried that coke cake thing and I threw all of the cupcakes out....The diet soda undertone in the cupcake is horrible. I didnt even want to waste the fat grams on it as a snack. But this pineapple angelfood cake is awesome. I am thinking for the next time to put a can of peaches in the food processor for a few to blend then add that to the cake mix. Might be good as well? YUM & Thanks for this recipe!.

    Re: Pineapple cake

I found another way of making this cake with no baking, from the jello website.

1 pkg. (4-serving size) JELL-O Vanilla Flavor Instant Pudding & Pie Filling
1 can (20 oz.) DOLE Crushed Pineapple in Juice, undrained
1 cup thawed COOL WHIP Whipped Topping
1 prepared round angel food cake (10 oz.)
    10 fresh strawberries

MIX dry pudding mix and pineapple in medium bowl. Gently stir in whipped topping.
CUT cake horizontally into three layers. Place bottom cake layer on serving plate; top with one-third of the pudding mixture. Repeat layers two times.
REFRIGERATE at least 1 hour. Top with strawberries just before serving. Store leftovers in refrigerator.

I used sugar free and fat free pudding mix, and fat free cool whip. It is really good, and pretty quick.

    Re: Pineapple cake

Thanks for this recipe.  I ordered Carb counters pound cake mix (only 22 cal. per piece) from netrition and I believe this recipe would be fantastic to use with it.

    Re: Pineapple cake

This sounds wonderful!  I've been wracking my brains trying to find a low-cal dessert for when my son & his wife come to dinner next week.  I think even my husband will try this because he loves pineapple cake. As long as I don't tell him beforehand that it's low-cal ... 8-)  One question - I tried using the brown Splenda in a different baked recipe and it turned out bitter.  Not sure what I did wrong, but I would really like to try it again with this recipe.  Perhaps it was OK because you mixed it with the pineapple? Just wondering.  Thanks.

I think you are right.  Since the pineapple has a natural sweet taste.  I did spread the 3 tablespoons of crushed pineapple on top and then "sprinkled" the 2 tablespoons of splenda brown and baked.  I think you will like it.
