    Re: 16 weeks on Alli

I was walking and counting calories with no weight loss at all on alli for a number of weeks. I did not see any loss until I started following the Scarsdale diet, stretching, and working on my abs every day. I do not follow the SD to the letter since we know so much more about healthy eating these days, but it's a great guideline for me. I figure I'll finish out the bottle I bought and then decide if it's worth investing in again. Good luck to you!

First I would like to congratulate you on your HUGE success.  Second, I'd like to ask you a question.  Over the 16 weeks, was your average rate of weight loss somewhat consistent or did you have high weeks and low weeks?  Congratulations!

    Re: 16 weeks on Alli

Thank you for all the well wishes everyone. I wish all of you success also.

    I'm currently at 187.4.

There were weeks where I only lost 1 lb. and some weeks where I lost 4 or 5 lbs. My main problem is the weekends. I have a hard time sticking to the diet during the weekends because we like to eat out.  I do cheat occasionally but I don't let it get me down. I just try harder the next week. Krispy Kreme and Reese's peanut butter cups are my downfall. Something about them I just cant say no to.

I exercise a good deal. I ride my bicycle with the kids in a trailer attached, to the gym every day during the week. It's about a mile there. I work out for an hour doing cardio and weight training and then I ride back. I don't do exercise on the weekends. I drink alot of water. I do have the occasional diet soda but water is what I prefer now. I really miss sweet tea. I'm a southerner and that's our staple here. I haven't had a glass since January 1st. As one of my rewards for reaching my goal weight, I'm going to have a glass.

I reward myself when I lose 10 lbs. I buy a new shirt or new pants or something . I really enjoy shopping now whereas I use to hate it. I've gone from a size 24 to a size 16.

Good luck to everyone and I can't wait to hear all of your progresses to come!

    Shannon

Congrats on the success in your weight loss journey.

For the last 3 weeks I have only lost 1lbs each week, and it was really starting to discourage me a great deal, because for every week prior to that I had dropped 2 to 3 lbs a week.  And I was not cheating, and I worked out at the gym every single day.  But now this week I have dropped 3 lbs, so I guess it all works out.

    I too rewaqrd myself with small shopping sprees when I lose 10lbs, and I when I lost 35lbs I rewarded myself with a new hair cut.  I have also decided that when I reach my target goal of 145lbs I will reward myself with some diamond hoop earings that I have wanted for a while.  {I am currently at 163lbs, started at 210lbs}

Good luck to you on your new journey and much success.

    cheyennejade:

    Good morning,

Thanks for the encouragement. Where can I find the regional threads. I think you are just what the doctor ordered.  I really liked what you had to say.

Have a good day.  Keep on track.

    Hello!

    I'm sorry I didn't see this sooner!

You can find the regional threads on the main message board...

    http://community.myalli.com/forums/

Ironically, for me, sometimes they appear...then they disappear. They are usually located toward the bottom of the page. They definitely exist, though!

Maybe you can run your state (or town) using the search link in the upper right hand corner...that may also land you to the right place!

I hope this post finds you, and finds you well!

    Re: 16 weeks on Alli

Hi everyone.  I started Alli 10 days ago at 234lbs. & have lost 8 lbs. already (water weight mostly).  This thread is very inspiring.  Congratulations to everyone experiencing success!  I know I won't continue to drop weight anywhere near this fast every week but hearing your continued success is encouraging.  Thanks for sharing!

    Re: 16 weeks on Alli

    Hi

What has been your exercise regimen?

    CharWaits:

I too have been on Alli for close to 16 weeks and I am down 44lbs.  I exercise daily and I think that is what makes all the difference.  I also drink lots of water, in fact that is almost all I really drink.

I started out at 210lbs and I am down to 166lbs, it feels so good to be able to go to the "regular" size clothing area I can't even begin to tell you.

It is also wonderful because my husband is absolutely thirlled for my progress and is a great encouragement to me.

Anyway, I think that it is great that you are successful on the Alli program.

    Re: 16 weeks on Alli

    Hi

3 days a week I walk on the tread mill for 45 minutes, and then I follow that up with stomach crunches, and torso twists.  2 day a week I do a swim excersise class for 1 hour and then the other 2 days I do strength training, utilizing all the weight machines for every part of my body.

I find that if I have to miss a day at the gym I feel sluggish.  I feel that I just might be addicted to the working out, but it's better than being addicted to the foods that are not good for me.
