    CHEAPER than Lean Cuisines

Hi Everyone, I've done this Alli life a few times just didn't stick to it, now I think I'm ready though, now that I'm working full time and not sitting at home around food all day.  My work also isn't near any food places.

So, If you're like me, you don't always have time to make a huge lunch in the morning, especially when I have a almost 2 and almost 3 year old to get ready also, and I have to make lunch for my fiance.

So, we were doing sandwiches when we were eating healthy before we decided to do alli again, but I get so tired of sandwiches every day, I love ww, healthy choice and all those but they are EXPENSIVE!  So I hadn't been buying them.  Well we got a new albertsons and we took more time browsing to check everything out, so now we get...

     LEAN GOURMET!

They're just like the other meals...  for example today I'm eating sesame chicken and the back says it's 270 cals, 2g fat and it even shows the ww points (5).

And right now at  the Albertsons by me they are 6 for $4, which of course is super cheap compared to healthy choice!  That's only $1.50 each!  They're the same portion size and everything, and even taste the same as the WW brand.

So, I've been taking one of those with me to work with other little snacks that I portion out in seperate bags right after I go grocery shopping like cheese, crackers, fruit, veggies, nuts, pudding, snack bars....

It ends up being SO easy every morning to just throw the micro meal and the pre portioned snacks into my lunch back and run out the door, and I do my fiances at the same time!

So yeah, just wanted to point that out cause the meals are so cheap compared to the others and I'm sure some of you out there are on a budget like me!

    MUAH!

    Re: CHEAPER than Lean Cuisines

    Katie,

Even better is packing your own meals.  I have 3 young ones in my home too, plus I work.  I went on Alli once before, went on a vacation and fell off the wagon.  When I returned I had gained my first 5lbs.  I waited a couple of weeks and planned to do better my 2nd time around.  So far I have, lost the 5 lbs. I gained and can't wait to loose the next 5.  I decided to plan better and so far it is working.  I purchased some great on-the-go lunch containers made by Fit&Fresh.  There are lots to choose from, my favorite is the lunch box and breakfast on the go (great for cereal).  Each of the products come with an ice pack to keep your food fresh for upto 6 hours.  There is also a website (fitandfresh.com) that has some great pointers too.  I've ditched the frozen meals and developed my own healthy and fresh meals/snacks.  I buy already cut fresh fruit and portion them into little containers for the week, I use washed and prepared romaine lettuce and I cooked chicken breasts for pita sandwiches and salds.  So far its been 8 days of healthy eating and 5 lbs. less.  I hope I can stick to it this time.  It is all about convenience and being prepared.  Best of luck to you on your weight loss journey.

Katie, Thanks for the tip.  I love Lean Cuisines, but hate the price when there not on sale.  I will see if any of the Albertsons in my area carry them.  Thanks again.

    Re: CHEAPER than Lean Cuisines

so with such low fat in the meal what else at that meal do you eat to bring up your fat count to 15gr? I see so many people with low fat main meal ideas curious of why you bother with Alli? you need to bring that meal up to 15 gr for alli to work, right?

    Re: CHEAPER than Lean Cuisines

I restarted Alli today and was reading the message board about Lean Cuising and noticed in your response our starting weight is the same (155) and that your current weight is 137 (congratulations!) I was wondering, if you didn't mind, what is your daily food and exercise routine?  I had trouble the last time I was on Alli, I started at 165 and ended at 150 and was stuck for weeks and weeks so I decided to stop taking it for a while.  I also ate Lean Cuisine for lunch almost every day, in fact, I thought that might be the problem so I stopped eating them and started making lunch.  Anyway, I am going to give it another shot and hopefully I can jump start things again and was hoping you may have some tips to share, since we sound like we have similiar goals.  Thanks.

The only thing that is bad about these meals is that there isn't enough fat in some of them. Smart Ones are really good. The pep pizza smartwich has 14 grams of fat if you eat both of the small ones.

You can always eat a piece of cheese to bring up your fat intake. I like those cheese cubes out of the snack machines. Or the cheese on wheat crackers are good for bringing up fat.

    Re: CHEAPER than Lean Cuisines

I use olives to bring up my fat grams...the bottle of olives I bought states that 4 olives are 25 calories and 4.5 grams of fat...hope my tip helped someone because I spent almost 3 hrs in the supermarket finding something that was low in calories and high in fat grams because I too find it a bit difficult to come up with 15 grams of fat using only about 400 calories
