I have been on Alli for a week today and started having pain in my left side and my doctor said I have to stop it for a week and  then get back on and see if it happens again. Has anyone else had problems this way? Its very frustrating because I was using this to get over a plateau.

Well, it is probally just gas.  Alli causes gas in a lot of people at first and gas can cause very severe pains in your left side.  Ask the dietician or pharmacists for some ideas.

Iinteresting. I've gotten terrible joint pain. Maybe I need to stop to see if improment happens

I am sorry to hear that you have been in pain. I do not think that this has anything to do with alli, but it's best to be sure. It's always best to listen to your doctor's advice. I also recommend that you contact the customer service line at 1-800-671-2554 (M-F 10am - 6pm ET) to report what you are experiencing.
