    Re: Treatment affects

That is not a treatment effect from alli but probably an effect from eating more fiber than you are accustomed .  Here are a few basic things you can do to alleviate the problem:

    • Slowing introduce high fiber foods int your diet
    • Drink plenty of water
    • Exercise more
    • May incorporate one of the yogurts that help speed your digestive transit system

Also, here is some information about fiber intake yo may find interesting

"When it comes to fiber, you can overdo a good thing!  Too much fiber can move food through the digestive tract faster than some nutrients can be absorbed.  By eating more than 50 to 60 grams of fiber a day, your body may lower the absorption of vitamins and minerals, among them zinc, iron, magnesium, and calcium.  An excessive amount of fiber may cause gas, diarrhea, and bloating.  By filling up with too many high-fiber foods or fiber supplements, you may not have an appetite for other nutrient- rich foods. How might you get too much fiber? By eating a lot of bran, very-high fiber cereals, or perhaps using a fiber supplement in an eating plan that already has plenty of vegetables, fruits, and whole grains."  The key eat your recommended amounts of fiber (as you are already doing) and drink plenty of water - new requirements call for a minimum of 13 cups per day!

    Hope this helps,

    Re: Treatment affects

    Hello, Sylvia ---

2 things in general seem to trigger treatment effects in me. The first is that certain foods, although not over the 19 g./meal limit, seem to trigger them. This gets them categorized into "foods to avoid." Treatment effects in both cases, by the way, consist of reddish-orange oily globs, as big as my little fingernail, each, passing right through me. The other source of treatment effects consist of how foods are prepared. Extra olive oil, to keep stir-fry foods from sticking to the pan, bring them on in an otherwise moderate-oil dish. In either case, Alli seems to save me from the oil lodging around my belly as fat.

    Re: Treatment affects

You are right on!  Certain food such as liquid fats (even if you stay within your recommendations) tend to trigger treatment effects in some people, so it's best to pay attention to those foods that may trigger those treatment effects.
