    Faster Weight Loss

I am trying to loose weight just a bit faster this month.  I have been loosing weight steadily at an average of 2 pounds a week since starting Alli on March 15th of this year. I have decreased my caloric intake to 1200cal/day based on my RMR done back in November at my hospital's Wellness Institute and have taken up bike riding and manage to walk at least 3 times week doing approx 5 miles each day. I can no longer run 5 ks due to back surgery in 2005. I need to loose weight prior to vacation June 9th. Not all of it, but at least another 15 or so pounds. Any suggestions?

    Re: Faster Weight Loss

alli was designed to provide a safe and steady weight loss of 1 to 3 pounds per week.  Any further weight loss on a consistent basis will only SLOW down your metabolism and your current steady weight loss.  I will not recommend lowering your calories any more than your target recommendations to prevent an unsafe rapid weight loss.

If you stay the course you will continue to drop pounds.  You can help your weight loss if you increase your physical activity.  Add resistance exercises such as weight lifting to your routine or cut a snack or about 100 to 200 calories from your meal plan (as long as you are not going to be very hungry in between meals or below 1200 calories).  Most importantly, stay on track.

    Thanks Sylvia,

I will try to cut down 100 calories and add lifting weights to my exercise plan.
