    Very Personal Confession

    Hi,

I just purchased Alli this week and plan to start on Saturday. I have about 50-60 pounds to lose, 30 of which I gained over the past year after ending an affair. I am very ashamed of that. I am married to a wonderful man who has never had a problem with my weight. I on the other hand, have struggled with it as long as I can remember and to say that I do not like my body would be putting it very mildly, so when this other man showed me some attention I fell for it and almost lost the greatest husband. I am not saying this so that anyone will feel sorry for my but to give some outlook into my life. I have not spoken to the other man for almost a year and I avoid him at all cost. The bad thing is for 6 to 8 months I sank into a deep depression with thoughts of suicide and days of not doing anything but eating. For my children and my hubby I have pulled myself out of that and am now ready to lose this weight and for the first time in my life not to get attention from some man but to feel better and have more energy to enjoy the rest of my life with my beautiful family. Thank you all for being here and I will keep you posted. I hope that Alli with help keep me accountable.

    Thanks

    Rasha

    Re: Very Personal Confession

thank you for your very personal message. good for you for putting your future and your health first. its the only way you can really be there for the people you love and who love you. my road to getting healthy meant breaking from bad habits and starting over, so thats what i'm in the process of doing after 17 years together. divorce isnt what i ever intended for my future, but this is really the healthier option for me now, and I see that. be strong and keep coming back to the message boards to applaud your achievments, fess up to your slip ups, and get great advice from other people just like you. : ) good luck!

    Re: Very Personal Confession

Hi Rasha, I think you are very brave for sharing such a personal story. You are probably stronger than you think you are if you are willing to do that. I'm so happy for you that your moving in such a positive direction. With each week you will see yourself getting healthier and healthier which should make you very proud. If you are anything like me, your self esteem will begin to rise right away. I have about 150 lbs to lose now, but when I see 1 or 2 pounds disappear I feel like I'm on top of the world! Best of luck to you and remember to continue to check in often because the daily contact really really helps keep you on track.

    God bless~..... Hollie

    Re: Very Personal Confession

    Hi Rasha:

For Alli to work you have to be committed to a lifestyle change, and it sounds as if you're at the right place in your life to make some positive changes.  Put the past behind you and look toward the future.  Today is all that we have  and tomorrow is all that we can hope for.  You can make all of your tomorrows beautiful and joy filled.  If you will follow the program properly Alli will work for you.  You must eat healthy, exercise, and drink lots of water to get the most benefit from Alli.  There is a lot of encouragement and support on the message boards and I hope you come here often.

    Re: Very Personal Confession

    Rasha

It take a great deal of courage to share such a personal part of your life, but I think that in sharing your are opening up yourself to change and the possibilities that will come with Alli.  When I started Alli I had a weight loss goal of 65 lbs and I have lost 53 of those 65 lbs,  I have found the encouragment, support and positive afirmations that I get from the others on these boards has been more helpful that only those on here could possibly understand.

Rasha, keep moving yourself in the direction you are headed and you will see some wonderful results and after each little milestone you will feel the greatest and those little steps will propel you further onto your journey.

    stay positive and keep strong.

    good luck
