hi there everyone.  my name is trish.  i have made it to almost a year on alli now i love it. this program has taught me so much and i will always follow alli because it is a stepping stone for me. i gave up all my junk food and my soft drinks and i now eat healthy as a horse..lol  i don't do any excrise  really i walk alot though, well i have lost enough weight to where i feel comfertable in my own skin and not so much afraid to go outside now. i do enjoy the looks i get, and the way people treat me now is great but i did it for me....  i started in at 268 lbs and now weigh 178 lbs. and i feel wonderfull i want to get down to like 145-150 lbs and im going to do it by the end of summer. i got to buy  jeans that fit for once.lol  it was nice not buying sweat pants for a change i was really into a size 24 and now for me to be in a size 15 is so great.i love it and my shirts are wow went from about a 2x-3x all the way down to a xlg is very flartting. so i know im on the right path and will forever do this for myself and i do think my type 2 diabets has went away i havent been to the doc to confirm  for sure but i am going very soon. my energy is through the roof and now that i am working it feels even better.i work bout 12 hrs a day so i dont really have time to do anything else but its ok.i just turned 39 on may 11th and for my 40th.(lol omg ill be 40) i am gonna be at my goal weight.woohoo for me.i can see a big difference in the way i look and and feel ... i now have a neck lol and a collar bone i didnt know i had.lol  but all in all i am in this for the long haul . so if anyone reads this post, just think of how much better u feel in the long run it is a work out but if u set your mind to you can do anything so good luck and god bless all........trish,

    Trish

Congratulations on the awesome changes you have made in your life and the positive steps you have made for yourself.  You sound so upbeat and energetic that it is quite contageous.  Feeling comfortable in your own skin is the greatest gift we can all give ourselves.

Thank you for your words I am sure they will give many others the same encouragement you have given me.

Re: almost a year on alli

Trish, your post will inspire a lot of people to stick to the program and not become discouraged.  You've lost a tremendous amount of weight and I know it took hard work and dedication to get to the place you are now.  I admire your perseverance.  I know it felt wonderful to buy all of those new, smaller clothes.  I will be happy when I 'have' to go shop because all my clothes are too large.  I'm not there yet, but my clothes are getting looser.  You love you...that is the biggest advantage you've gained from losing all the weight.  And you're more energetic and healthier as well.  Hey, how much better can it get?  Be sure to let us know when you reach your goal.  I know you will.  With such an upbeat attitude you can't fail.

Re: almost a year on alli

Congrats, Trish! Wow, what a motivator. I started taking Alli when it first came out and started losing big time too. I got lazy and quit. I have not gained any back, but I have not lost any either. This is my start day (again). Thanx for the motivation and keep up the great work!!!

Re: almost a year on alli

    Hi Trish,

Thank you for posting your success!  Reading your story was a real motivator for me.  I am similar in weight and age to you.  I really need to do this not only to look better but for long term health as well.  Being overweight is so depressing and it is keeping me from doing what I want to do in life.  Are there any tips you can give that you think really helped you?  Do you walk everyday?  Did you start drinking alot of water everyday?  I really like soft drinks and that is something that is very hard for me to give up but I'm going to have to do it.

Congratulations on your weight loss.  It is very admirable.  I hope to be having my own success story soon.

    Hugs...

Re: almost a year on alli

Way to go Trish!!!   Great story.  I, too have been on Alli for almost a year.  I did so well for the first six months, and as someone else posted, became lazy and stopped losing weight.  I have started a challenge for this month to get myself back on track.

Thanks for the motivation!!!  I know you will reach your goal.

Re: almost a year on alli

I think we need to start a new club.   The people who started when Ali came out and how we have done.  I am like many, I did so well until March, then had an attack of acute pancreatitis which resulted in emergency gallbladder surgery.  I also had a new granddaughter born and lost my mother-in-law at the same time.  There are more reasons to get back on track than to get off the train all together.  I am going to "restart" on my one year anniversay of Ali on 6/17.  I will use the next two weeks to get my body ready.  Funny thing is, I never stopped buying the pills and for the most part kept taking them, even when I was sick.  Missed a few days and a few meals.

Today is a new day and a new start.  Who's with me?

    Started 6/17/07 at 244 lbs.

Re: almost a year on alli

Congratulations Trish and everyone else who posted.  I started last year on June 16 and have lost 50 pesky pounds.  You have all been so inspiring and motivational to me and all the other readers.  One year does not mean I quit, no sir, it means this lifestyle change is permanent, not temporary like the rest of the diets I've been on.  This one-year anniversary means we all need to retool, rethink, restrategize, renew our commitments, renew our enthusiasm, and charge ahead like the warriors we were one year ago.  You know what?  This is fun!

    Love you all,

    Judy

WOW .. congrats.   I applaud you for being so faithful to yourself.  I've cheated to much along the way (nothing new there) so I haven't lost nearly as much as what I wanted or should have.

Re: almost a year on alli

Congratulations on your tremendous weight loss!  I've been on Alli for almost a year and lost 80 pounds.  Feel great, and wearing regular sized clothes (my jeans are size 10!!)

It is so easy to give up, but the benefits are so worth sticking to it.

    Continued success
