Re: How long after taking alli

I think it depends on the person.  I personally after 5 days, dropped 6lbs!  Although I do think a good amount was water.  my daughter, on the other hand, did not lose an ounce until today.  She dropped 2lbs after 7 days.  i think that it is the expected loss for all of us..   1 -2 lbs a week.  so, don't give up!  It may just be taking a bit for your body to get used to a different way of eating!  oh, also, neither one of us has had any major treatment effects.  Good luck!

Pills don't work under 5g of fat per meal.  How much fat are you consuming at each meal.  You say low to none.  If that's case, you're not reaping benefit.

A friend told her doctor the same thing was happening and she found she wasn't eatting enough calories. She added 200 calories to her intake and began seeing results. Her body was holding on to the weight thinking it was starving.

Re: How long after taking alli

This is Tiger Mom:  The problem I am having is eating so much food at one meal.  While I know the foods are low in fat, I simply am stuffed when I eat that much food.  I am feeling way full about one half way through the meal.  And, sometimes, I don't have time to prepare these elaborate meals.  I need something quick because a lot of times my blood sugar can't wait for me to prepare a 15 minute meal.  Any suggestions for me?

Re: How long after taking alli

    Hi Evie659,

Welcome to alli.  Give your body some time to adjust to the plan and start demonstrating outward results.  Be sure to stay balanced in your diet (you still need fats, just don't go over the suggested amount) and be sure to begin a weekly exercise regime that includes both cardio and strength training - both critical elements to burning calories and fat and keeping it off.

Many people find that it takes a couple weeks before they begin noticing a visible difference.  Keep at it and maintain a positive attitude.  You've only just begun.

Let me know if you have any questions and keep me posted.

    Good Luck,

    Paul

    Hi Tiger Mom,

If you are finding that the meals fill you up too much, then just decrease your portion size.  (It's not a bad thing!) However, you do want to make sure that you aren't getting too FEW calories per day because your body needs them to fuel your workouts and as you've mentioned, stabilize your blood sugar levels.  In those cases, substitute in several small, balanced snacks throguhout the day such as a light protein shake or bar, apple and cheese or bananna and peanut butter, yogart and low-fat granola, nuts and raisins, etc.

I hope this helps.  If you have further questions about your dietary needs, you can also reach out to the online dietician who can give you a response more tailored to yuor specific caloric needs.

    Good Luck,

    Paul
