Actually you can use either one. I aplogize for the confusion but the reason is that the recommendations were altered slightly after alli was on the market for a while. Some people preferred to have less fat in the morning and more at night. In addition, some people started and were in the habit of having a FF breakfast - cereal, skim milk, coffee - so they're told to skip the capsule.
You can have 2 to 3 snacks per day. Just be sure to count the calories into your daily totals so you don't have too many calories. In addition, keep your fat to 2 to 3 grams per snack. There's a chance, if eaten too close to meals, that TE's could result because there's still a lot of fat in the gut.
