Re: The Furious 80+ Weightloss Group (Let's Do It, People!)...

Hello all. I had check in today and this week was brutal. It was that time of the month. I didn't take my alli and I didn't eat exceptionally well. So I didn't lose any. Thank goodness I didn't gain either. I just maintained. So this week I'm back on track!

Sy I'm most definitely going to try the videos. I've been seeing the infomercial and have really wanted to try it. But you know those infomercials can be. LOL. Thanks for the information. :)

Re: The Furious 80+ Weightloss Group (Let's Do It, People!)...

Hello Ladies! It's been a while!

Well, here is my update. We are all moved into our new home. We just have to unpack. Since we had to drop sooo much money on moving we kind of skipped out on grocery shopping, which means I skipped out on my meal plan. Oh, it wasn't just a couple of days. It has been two weeks of terrible eating. Well I wouldn't call it terrible. Okay, yes I would. breakfast and lunch were the worst for almost two weeks straight. Dinner would be awesome since my bf gets off at the same time everyday. He would have dinner ready.
Needless to say, I probably have gained some weight back. I don't know for sure because the scale is packed somewhere and has yet to reveal itself. That could be a blessing in disguise.

Well today is Monday and I am determined to get back on track! My family just announced the next family reunion is at MYRTLE BEACH next July. I am excited and I am going to work so hard in getting into a bathing suit. A one piece is awesome, a two piece would be DIVINE!

So I am joining Curves on Friday with a friend and I am going to do it!

I hope everyone has had a great few weeks! I haven't had the time to go over this thread. I will though.

Re: The Furious 80+ Weightloss Group (Let's Do It, People!)...

     Hello Ladies,

Good to see you all back.  I think we all sort of lost focus but let's make it a serious priority to get the job done.

Last night was a great workout... tough but I did much better with the video this time.  I workout with Shaun T every other night and then I give myself a break the days in between - this way I'm working out at a steadier pace without exhausting my muscles.  I also make time for family on those off days so that it doesn't become an issue.  Always keep family, especially if you have a husband and children, as one of your top priorities.

I ate really well and avoided the junk better than usual.  So lookin' good.  My mother is taking my kids tomorrow until Thursday so I'm going to take advantage of that time to workout as much as possible for the next couple of days.

Tracy... to answer your question... a challenge is basically an opportunity for you to meet a specific weightloss goal within a certain given time.  So let's say someone posts a challenge to lose 5lbs by next Saturday - you can join in on the challenge by doing your workouts and eating right as you normally would do but you'd be pushing yourself more b/c you want to be one of the people to meet or exceed your goal.  It's just a motivation to do better with your program and reach your goal faster.  I really believe we all should start doing weekly challenges.

I am going to start challenging myself as of this week... if anyone wants to join in... you are welcome to.  I challenge anyone to lose 5 pounds by August 2nd.  If anyone thinks they can meet or beat my challenge... let's get it on... Seriously!!!  To make it more interesting, the one who loses the least weight has to mail the winner a small gift after the challenge. The gift has to be something that relates to working out or weightloss like a pair of socks, or a hand weight, or a water bottle... things like that that will not cost much.

Well, I'm out ladies. Until tomorrow... stay blessed, get rest and to our success.

I am all about the challenge!! (OMG I am starting to talk like my students - ahhhhh).  So the challenge is 5 pounds by August 2nd.  I am on board.  Do we check in weekly or anything?  This is actually going to be fun.  My kids are the ones 'taking me for a walk' each night so I can 'lose my tummy' so I can get them to help.

Re: The Furious 80+ Weightloss Group (Let's Do It, People!)...

     Hey Gang:

I'm going to sign up for this even though, for me, 5 lbs by Aug. 2nd would be almost staggering.  But, hey, ya never know.  It should at least keep me focused.  I was contemplating making some banana nut bread today because I have bananas that are going to go bad if not eaten or used soon.  I even half way convinced myself that it would be for hubby and I wouldn't eat any of it.  But honestly, what would be worse, tossing a few bananas in the trash or making the banana nut bread and eating some of it?   I think it would be wiser to toss the bananas in the 'waste' basket than to toss banana nut bread on my 'waist.'   Right?  Cuz who am I really fooling other than myself when I say I can make it and leave it alone?   It isn't one of my favorite things, but it is sweet, and sometimes that is all it takes for me.  So...to get me started on this challenge...the bananas go into the trash!

I am up to walking 2 miles a day now.  That may not sound like much, but when you started out at 1/2 mile a day it is an accomplishment.  I have found that any sort of exercise is far better than none at all.  In case this tip helps anyone, my doctor said that while sitting watching TV to flex a muscle and hold it as tight as I can for 5-10 seconds.  Do arms, legs, and abdomen..any muscle that you can contract or hold it.  Do it repeatedly with each muscle.  Any and all movement adds up.  If you're watching a 2 hour movie you can give your muscles a good, although mild, workout like this.  You can do the same thing with exercise bands.  Or weights.  The important thing is to move.  Doc said, 'ever notice how people who fidget a lot are never fat?'  Ummmm...something to think about.

I hope everybody is having a good week. At least Monday is over with!

Re: The Furious 80+ Weightloss Group (Let's Do It, People!)...

I am new to the Alli program but in for the long run as well.  Need to lose over 100 pounds but looking at it 5 at a time so it is not so scary.  Will be 60 in just under 18 months and want to be back to a healthy weight, feeling great turning the big 60.  I do not want to go into retirement with my days full of doctor appointments and what pills to take at what time!!  My husband has maybe 10-15 pounds to lose but is very supportive.  In 31 years of marriage he has never seen me smaller than a size 18. Love fruits, veggies and seafood but chocolate is my weakness. Am rewarding myself each night with a Weight Watchers ice cream bar that has only 1g of fat.

Looking foward to hearing, learning and communicating with others in the same situation.

Can someone help me understand how to "check in".  I go to the My Check In box anf there is nothing that is clickable.  I lost 10 pounds and am anxious to record it!

By the way, thanks for all the awesome support.  I LOVE reading your posts!

Re: The Furious 80+ Weightloss Group (Let's Do It, People!)...

I haven't been on in a couple of weeks, but just wanted to say that I have lost 2 pounds so far.  I am having a lot of the greasy spots in the toilet when I go to the bathroom.  One day while I was out shopping, I didn't make it to the bathroom fast enough...it was on the other side of the store, and I had to ask someone where it was...and the greasy stuff started to seep out, and ruined my clothes, and needless to say, it was very embarrassing, but I finally got to the bathroom, cleaned myself up, and left ASAP.  Thank goodness my daughter was with me, and was very wonderful about the whole thing, and thank goodness we were not too far from home either.  It was horrible.  So, now I have a change of clothes in my purse, and plastic bags for the "just in case" moment.  Sorry if that was TMI, but it was really awful, and I really contemplated stopping the ALLI because of it.  But, alas, I have not stopped.  I hope that effect gets better.  I know some have said that is not a TE, and then some have said it is, but I just hope that whether it is or isn't, that I don't have to keep going through it.  Also, again, TMI, but has anyone else noticed that your poop seems to be yellow/orange, and smells worse than it did before?  I feel like mine does.

Re: The Furious 80+ Weightloss Group (Let's Do It, People!)...

     Ladies,

The challenge sounds great.  5lbs by 8/2... let's get it.

To our member having trouble with checking in, you should be able to find it on your home page.  It should be on the right-hand side of the screen labeled "check in".  Sorry it took so long to get back to ya.

Welcome back to all!  I hope you join the challenge this week.  Please read my previous post regarding the reward set up.  The winner of the challenge for the week is the person who loses the most weight for that challenge.  Everyone who participated in the challenge, with acception to the winner, has to send an inexpensive gift to the winner via mail that relates to weight loss. For example, a water bottle, a hand weight, a music cd for motivation, etc.  We do this to encourage not only the winner but the participants to push to lose the extra weight quicker and stay focused.  On this Saturday, we will do a weigh-in to determine the winner on Sunday, 8/3.  The challenge is open to everyone so feel free to join anytime.

You can continue to check-in every week as normal, it's just the official weigh-in for this challenge is for 8/2.

So with that said... let's get pumped and make it count ladies.  We all need challenges like this to keep the interest fresh and meet our goals every week.

God bless and I'll be checkin' for everyone tomorrow.

Re: The Furious 80+ Weightloss Group (Let's Do It, People!)...

     Hey guys,

Just passing thru to check in on everyone....I havent been on the boards as much lately, just not liking the new changes and I often have issues logging in..I fell off the wagon a bit and for the past 3 weeks or so my weight has been flucuating from 251 to 247....Today was my check in at 247, which was my second mini goal so i've created a new one of 235.  The weight is coming off much slower than I would have liked but I guess I'm not being as diligent about things as I should be...I'm hoping to get back on track and be more stricter with my diet.  I know though that a loss is still a loss so no matter how long it takes to get there I'll be happier this time next year because of my healthier lifestyle(and sleeker bod lol) I hope everyone is well...I dunno bout you guys but I hope August flies by, I am just soo over summer right now lol.

Jen sw as of 4/6/08 274 cw as of 11/5/08 233 (15% lost) 41lbs gone for good! next mini goal 223 Would LOVE to be 215 by xmas. looking forward to a new me, and a better future.

Hi ladies, I see that I'm not the only one who has been busy the last few weeks.  I'm in the process of packing and working.  Last week I gain 1 pound but this week I lost 2.  I've also spending time with my step-daughter.  She's been keeping me on my workout schedule; she loves to go walking and swimming with me.  I'm ready to get back on track as well, while she was here with us, I got off my eating plan and didn't take my alli.  I'm soooo ready.  I hope that everyone is doing well.  Have a great week ladies.

Re: The Furious 80+ Weightloss Group (Let's Do It, People!)...

     Good Morning Ladies,

Good to hear from you all.  Yes, I see that we were all busy so I hope that we atleast stuck to eating better.  Congrats to B-ruca on losing 5lbs!  Keep up the awesome work.  We did have a challenge but I don't think you participated or was aware of it.  If you'd like to participate in a challenge next week, let me know and I'll join with you.  I haven't lost any this week so you outdid me for sure:) But I know that I did not have time to workout this week b/c I had inventory at work this week and I used my workout time to build my online business... yes, girls, I'm still working on it. The sacrifice was totally worth it b/c I have a deadline to make.

Well, I hope everyone else that we haven't heard from in a while is doing well.  They are missed:)

    To a great week,

    Sy aka hypemama
