    Which fat counts???

Today I have starter my diet and will start taking the pill on thursday.  I know that we are supposed to take pill over 5 fat grams, but which one do we go by?

    Calories from fat

    Total fat

    Saturated fat

    Trans fat

Also, I am eating 3 meals and two snacks and will be under 1800, any advice?

    Re: Which fat counts???

Welcome to alli!  It's a great Program and I'm sure you'll do well.

Count the grams of fat per serving; "trans" etc. will be included in the total number.  If you have more than one serving then multiply by the number you ate.

You can bring your counts up in several ways: 1.) increase the size of your portion slightly; and/or 2.) use fewer LF or FF products.  I realize this is a big change because most of us are brainwashed against fat.  But the Alli diet is a health 30% total calories (same as the Heart Association) so you can be a little more liberal.

Please let me know if you need anything else.

    Re: Which fat counts???

Sure.  If it's a packaged food, look at the label and include the total fat grams (and calories) in the amount you ate.  So if you had two cups, and one cup is a "serving" then multiply by 2.

Also check the Calorie & Fat Counter included in the alli Starter Kit.  You can use www.calorieking.com; or check the website like McDonalds and record the calories and fat in the times you ate.

Let me know If this is still unclear.  I'm happy to help.
