    calorie record

What are others doing once they use up all the pages in the starter kit to keep record of the calories taken in?  I find that I estimate calories and fat and as a result seem to be having difficulty losing weight.  Wouldn't it make sense for alli to make available a download so that I ( and perhaps others) HAVE to keep a written record?  Somehow, just writing it on a piece of paper doesn 't have the same effect for me as it did recording it in the little book.

I use the Nutrition Log too. I don't care for the suggested meal plans. It's time consuming entering things in the Nutrition Log for the first time though but it's a good tool to track the kinds of calories you're consuming.

    Re: calorie record

I find having a small hand-bag sized diary is the best way, you can get "page-a-day" diaries that are small enough so you can even write weight & BMI etc in on your check-in dates (if you want) plus you can write in which day you're going to the gym or other activity. - if it's planned in, it's easier to remember to do plus when it's written down I find I'm more likely to do it.

    Re: calorie record

    hi,

I was thinking the same exact thing today. I find that writing down everything I eat and keeping track of fat and calories is very helpful, but I am almost at the end of the Daily Journal that came in my starter kit. I was hoping Alli would send me more journals, but judging from what I have read, I guess they don't offer that. I guess I am off to a stationery store to look for a small journal !!!  : (

    Re: calorie record

Hi! I know these posts are about 5 months old and by now you guys have probably found a solution to this, but maybe this can help somebody else out.  You can download the daily booklet if you have Adobe acrobat.  Here's the steps to find the booklet on the Alli web site.

    1. When you log into myalli.com the page that comes up will have a list of links to click on.  (to the left)

    2. Click on Alli support.  When that page opens, go towards the bottom and find "handy  reference guides       from the Alli starter pack", then click on the blue hypertext.  The next page to come up will be a listing of all the booklets from the starter packs.

    3. Click on the daily journal link.

    4. The daily journal will come up in Adobe Acrobat.  The neat part is that you can save this file to your home computer and print it up without having to  hunt for it again on the Alli website .  The only downside is that when you print it up back to back, it doesn't line up perfectly, due to the page margins.  But it still works good.  Otherwise maybe you could call Alli and see if they can send you a booklet.

    Re: calorie record

I mentioned this before too, but I purchased a diet calc calculator. It is a handheld electronic calculator that is just like the online nutrition log but it very handy. It came pre programed with 500 foods and you can add all your own too. It keeps your goals ,bmi, and all the calories, fat, sodium, sugar, fiber etc you eat every day. Values start to flash if you go over your daily goal. Hope this helps!

                       *Michele*     start date March 17,2008

                               Height:  5'2"         Age:  37

**Starting weight 209 pounds ** Current weight 132 pounds**

                               Goal weight 125 pounds

77 pounds lost!!!!!      Only      7 pounds left......
