    Starting week three

    Hello Alli Family,

Today will be my thrid week.  I just don't know what I am doing wrong.  I have gained 2 lbs.  Well I admit my physical activity is not where it should be.  I have four children my youngest 4 months old.  I do stick to low cal and my fat intake.  I actually eat less fat than my intake.  I am insulin dependent diabetic. just want to see some results.

    Re: Starting week three

    Hi Theiter,

I, also, just started my 3rd week.  This morning's weigh in discouraged me, but I will try harder and stick with the program.  I believe it will work if I keep up my journal and pay more attention to eating the right foods.  I found that if I didn't write in my journal as I eat I forget some of the food.  Also, if you take time after taking your alli capsule to write down the items on your plate the meal is eaten slower and more hunger satisfying.  I even look up the information on calories in between bites.  Good luck and stick to it.

    Re: Starting week three

I am also in week 3 and have dropped 4 pounds the first weigh in. I stick to the 1800 cals and no more than 19 grams of fat per meal and record it in the nutrition log on myalli so I can track it and stay in check. If it will exceed the limits by meal...i find something else with fewer cals and lower fat. take your vitamin at night also and drink alot of water with lemons.

    Re: Starting week three

I'm on week 3 too.  I lost 4lbs the first week and 1.5 lbs the second week, but I'll probably gain this week cause the hubby has gone to Cali on work for the week and I've been down in the dumps eating the whole house.  Sheesh you think I would be happy LOL.  I told myself yesterday after I ate a whole giant hershey bar I would pick myself up today....but now I guess I'll try picking myself up tomorrow...best of luck everyone!

    Re: Starting week three

Get off those hershey bar's...too much fat and stick with something less fatty...don't let your body gain it back...drink the H2O and lemon or have a smootie...

    Re: Starting week three

My husband had to quit drinking alcohol about a year ago due to doctor's orders, but he still wanted to stop at the clubs.  He started ordering tonic and lime, so I decided recently to try diet tonic and lime.  I like it and am trying to drink it in the evenings instead of my usual vodka and orange juice.  He, also, found Sam's sparkling water at Walmart which tastes sweeter but has no calories.  I'm not a chocolate offender but every now and then I do like chocolate and for those occasions there are low fat chocolate milks, yogurt ice creams and puddings available (always check nutrician labels).  I already drink lots of water but will add lemon to my H2O. Thanks.

    Re: Starting week three

Gary, your absolutely right!  I felt so bad after that Hershey Bar, and I'm not even going to mention how sick I got at 2am the next morning.  The only good news was that I haven't gained or lost a lb!  I'm back on track and plan on staying that way!!

    Re: Starting week three

Make sure you do stay on track...resist the temtation. I find myself wanting a cold pop or koolaid from the fridge but I aways turn to my water bottle thats nice and cold and it does the trick. I drink water with lemon during the day. Lots of water will flush you out and when your flushing out along comes the stored fat from inside. Theres only 3 ways for FAT to leave your body...

    • Pee it
    • Poo it
    • or burn it

Make all three work...success will be yours and stay active...it's the key...weather your walking, working or whatever...it all burns calories and FAT.

I don't expect to drop alot at once but to loose 2-3 a week will be fine with me...

Keep in touch and lets lose a few pounds...LOL

    Re: Starting week three

Well after my oboo earlier this week I have been back on track!  I peaked at the scale today and noticed my hard efforts after that mess up are paying off....now if only they pay off tomorrow on my official weigh-in day LOL.

Gary, I'm a waterholic...use to I HATED water, but something happend and now I LOVE it!  I drink it all day...but it has to be COLD.  The only time I'll drink it room temp is after a run.  I too don't expect to drop caboodles, but 2 lbs a week would be really nice!!!

I'll check in tomorrow after my weigh-in! :)

    Re: Starting week three

I actually only started last week and have lost a total of 7 lbs.  If you want to know the truth.  I just focus on the fat gram intake and not worry about the calories.  I found when I did this...and I went back and calculated my calories...I was well under the target with some of my meals.  Everyone is different...but for me...focusing on the fat gram intake, rather than the calories...is working.

    Re: Starting week three

Well, today was weigh-in day.  I lost half a pound...not what I was wanting, but after the earlier episode this week with the Hershey bar, I'm happy to have a loss :)  I will work really hard this week to hopefully get a 2-3lb loss next Monday.

    Congrats on that 7lbs!  Wow!

    Re: Starting week three

    Roxie,

Congrats on the 1/2 pound loss! No more hershey bars remember...I weighed in this morning and I had a 5 Lb loss week! Total 3 week loss is 9 lbs or 19.5% of my total goal! I was suprised by it as I was ok with maybe 2 lbs.

I shoot for 2 lbs...and watch the fat intake and drink alot of water w/lemon of course.

Keep it up and don't give in!

    Re: Starting week three

    Lynn,

Seems to quench my thirst as well as alleviate hunger for me. I also eat them as well as grapefruits. I snack (If I do) on low calorie, vitamin rich and no fat items. I have kept myself under 1800 calories a day and lower than 60 grams of fat sticking to meat with lots of protien value...seems to be working.

    Re: Starting week three

Way to go Gary!!!  WOOHOO!!!  I have said NO to the Hershey Bars :) and am aiming for a 2lb loss next Monday!

I've been lifting weights and running on Mon, Wed, & Fri (I'm hoping to run another 5K this fall)...I know muscle ways more than fat, but I still think me going off my plan those two days earlier in the week was the cause for only half a pound loss.  I'm going to try harder this week, but I'm proud of my results so far!!

    YAY US!
