    Re: Starting week three

Good news! I lost 5 lbs last week after a two week plateau...just have to have the patience. I also added no fat yogurt with strawberries and blueberries along with some grapenut cereal. I also added lean cut of ham. Seems to have done the trick and kept the salt intake in check.

Now I await your report on Wednesday.

    My stats to date:

    SW 268

    CW 245

    GW 218-220

Loss to date since 27 May 08: 23 lbs

Well, I am back on Alli and it is going well!  I just hope to continue with a loss each week and I should be at my goal in no time!

    thinking of starting Alli..question

Hi Everyone..I am thinking about starting on Alli but am concerned about side effects I have heard about. I am posting here...because everyone here already has been on Alli and I wanted to know if anyone has experienced those horrible side effects I have been hearing about ?  It is all that is keeping me from getting started.  Last year I lost 54 pounds on LAweight loss..but they went out of business in my state and while trying MANY different diet plans, I have gained back 25 of those lost pounds and I want to lose those before I gain back anymore.  Advice about Alli would be greatly appreciated.  Kathy

    Re: thinking of starting Alli..question

     Kathy,

No need to worry about the side affects as long as you stay within the plan and do as it tells you. Don't consume over your allow fat grams per meal and you will be fine. Some foods have what is called hidden fat grams...like mexican or chinese and you may need to find a potty but it don't just come out of you uncontrolled.

There are no big worries with Alli. Control what you eat and back off on the portions and don't give into temptations and you will see the results. FOLLOW THE PLAN...if you do anything otherwise then you won't get the results.

I plateaued for two weeks but the next week I lost 5 lbs so it works but you have to give your body time to adjust itself. Just taking a pill and eating what you want won't work and you'll be trowing away your money. The plan works and makes you learn to eat better and healthier.

Water intake is also in my book the key. I drink on average 32 ounces a day. Throw in some walking or other cardio and you'll be seeing results.

Gary...Thank you for answering my question about side effects of Alli.  I really appreciate your honesty.  It sounds to me like the Alliplan is a plan for me.  I am going to buy some over the weekend. Thanks again for the information and advice on following the plan.  Kathy

    Re: Starting week three

Roxxee & Gary....way to go on your weight lose this week.  Two weeks of nothing then 5 pds ...good that you kept the faith Gary. I keep telling myself if you do it then it is bound to happen. Eatting right food, less calories and fat and exercise...I HAVE TO loose weight!  My exercise is still the same just 3 miles but I do not want to move it until I am sound on it.  I am still challenged by the need for varity of food. I will be cooking Monday night for a few hours for meals for the week. My favorite snack is F/F tapicoa pudding with 16 pretzels...yummy! Roxxee I am jealous of your swim...you are blessed there. Keep at it Girl! Oh, I did my measurements and I lost 6 inches in one month....1 1/2 off my waist! Chow Chow partners! Keep up the good work and thanks for tapping in you encouage me!

    Re: Starting week three

Now see....inches are coming off. Tapicoa pudding...whats the caloric content of that and I hope the pretzels are fat/salt free.

Try nonfat yogurt, frozen strawberries with sugar, Blueberries fresh or frozen and grapenuts cereal ontop. This will fill in alot on the nutrition graph and have very little fat grams but alot of complex carbs and vitamins.

Reverse eat occassionally. Dinner at breakfast and breakfast at dinner.

     Roxie,

Been busy here too! Monday was another plateau weigh-in! No loss but no gain either. I expect that it is forming a pattern of 2 week plateaus and then a 5 lb loss so that is good. Inches still decreasing so I suspect body is making the adjustments... Tell all tomorrow on your weigh in!

    Re: Starting week three

Ugh, I feel like I'm losing and gaining the same few pounds.  Had a 2 lb GAIN yesterday morning when I weighed in...not sure if it was due to weighing at a different day and time or not, but I'm going to have to start weighing in on Wednesdays EARLY like at 6am for now on since the kids are back in school.

As long as those inches are decreasing it sounds like your doing great!

    Re: Starting week three

Keep the faith and watch the food intake. Weigh in first thing in the morning before you eat or drink anything. Keep track of what your nutrition is on the myalli.

    drastically limit:

    1. salt
    2. sugar
    3. butter
    4. oils

increase cardio activity...no eating after 6pm and no candy.

I may have to spank you if you don't follow the rules...LOL

    Re: Starting week three

     ROXXIE!

No news is good news right......thats the way my weigh-in was Monday! Flatlines, no budge, no gain...no loss...just like EEEEEEORE would say on winnIe the pooH...OM ME OH MY...lo

Factually though...I figured it would be a no loss week as that is what it has been but this week there should be a loss coming as I feel it...hard to explain it but I feel it....2 weeks goes by then suddenly a 5 lb loss. I can live with that and stay the course as the benefits are showing.

Don't be shy all you other fellow weight loss hopefuls! Keep with us and keep true to the plan and it will work...it takes perserverance to be successful and we all wouldn't be here if we were losers!

One pound is a big feat and a well deserved one...KEEP WITH US! Me and ROXXIE want to hear from you...we are there for you and we won't lie to you...

I find this very intriguing as I have never been surrounded by so many down to earth ladies and an occassional man.

We will fight to the end to get it off...I am there for you all...cry me a river and build me a bridge and I will carry you over it!

    Re: Starting week three

I'm starting week 3 today. So far lost 5 lbs. I'm pleasantly surprised- it takes a mountain to budge any weight off me! I haven't been perfect by any means, but what I HAVE been is focused on eating healthier, stopping when I'm satisfied and not full (that "1/4-3/4 full at all times" idea is really helpful), and concentrating on distinguishing physical hunger from emotional hunger. I'm really trying to get past any cravings (they usually sort of go away eventually by themselves if I stick it out). I'm also exercising 30-45 min. every day. The other thing I'm NOT doing (or not doing as much as I have on other programs where I, of course, failed) is overanalyzing and "overemotionalizing" my eating habits, weight loss, etc. (I'm trying hard not to think about what I'm doing/not doing so much, not trying to be such a perfectionist, and keeping on an even keel emotionally - i.e. not getting overly excited about any successes, not feeling nervous or stressed about the number on the scale, not beating myself up if I mess up etc.). This combo of strategies seems to be working at the moment (while I'm relaxed on summer vacation). We'll see how it goes once I start my busy, crazy work/school/extracurricular activities schedule at the end of this month.

This time its going to be different

    Re: Starting week three

Gary, well good for you!  At least you didn't gain!!  I lost those 2lbs at my weigh-in :)  Sorry it's taken me longer to reply just so busy now that school is back in full swing for the kidos.

Bethdoshay welcome and good luck to you!

Hope to have a big loss this week!
