    Week 1 results!

I'M SO PUMPED!!!!  I just weighed in for week 1 and lost 5 POUNDS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  I know I can't realistically do that every week, but I was really surprised at not only the weight loss, but how easy the program was for me!  This is coming from somebody who has been on every possible diet known to mankind.  In fact, the last time I joined Weight Watchers (I couldn't even tell you how many times I've joined and dropped out), I paid $110 up front to commit to 10 weeks, kept the diary for maybe one day, gained the next week, and never went back.  Isn't that sad?????  That's not to mention Atkins, Jenny Craig, prescription diet pills (the stimulant kind that sent me into major heart palpitations), South Beach, Slim-Fast, and about anything else I ever read about in a magazine.  I’m always felt compelled to cheat on whatever diet I’m on, but Alli stopped me dead in my tracks.  I did have one minor treatment effect this week – a day or so after I had ice cream.  I would consider it pretty mild, but it made me think twice about going over my fat counts again!  I even stuck with it on the weekend, which is just unheard of for me – the weekend was always “cheat time.”  I had fast food twice this weekend – Burger King one time with my boys and Subway yesterday.  I had the grilled chicken sandwich at Burger King and a Subway chicken sandwich with Fritos.  I even counted out my Fritos to make sure I didn’t go over!  Anyway, I’m just very excited and encouraged.  I didn’t even exercise last week!  I really meant to, but it just didn’t happen.  I’m absolutely committed to doing some exercise this week.My husband talked to me yesterday about Lap-Band surgery – he works for a hospital and has heard a lot of “talk” about it.  It usually hurts my feelings when he brings up this stuff (he’s thin and always has been, along with my mother, brother, sister, and my boys), but not this time!  I just kind of chuckled.  He doesn’t know I’m taking Alli because I know exactly what he’d be thinking – “here we go again.”  I’m just going to plug at it and see if he notices some results.

    Re: Week 1 results!

WOW that's fantastic. I just started today so hopefully by next Monday I'll be able to feel your joy!!!! CONGRATS!!!! I also joined Curves (which worked but couldn't afford when I went to law school), my doctor recommended atkins (which worked til I couldn't take it anymore and had to eat one carb, then another... then another). I was on Nutrisystem, which worked until again, I went broke by attending law school.... $50 a month I can afford. My husband didn't want me doing Alli either but yesterday I threw down and picked it up! Kudos to you again!

Good for you.  I think no one needs to know you just do it for yourself and that is what matters.  Keep up the great work.

    Re: Week 1 results!

    Thanks everybody!!!!

Debukd, I was terrified too.  Like I said, though, the only time I had a very minor treatment effect was after ice cream - it was the next day, I think.  The ice cream got the best of me and I paid for it!  Otherwise, I was very careful about counting my fats.
