    Hi Gananama,

We all have weeks when things don't go as we planned. The best thing to do this week is to come up with a realistic and achievable plan for your activity.

Let us know how things go,

    Re: My Daughter and I

This last week I realize that I have not focused on myself  I am making myself learn to like fruits in place of sweets and salads instead of fatty foods.  Or to at least eat some vegetables with my meals.  I'm also at least doing some tummy exercises this week also.  Hope next week shows improvement.  I know only I can change myself.

    Re: My Daughter and I

I really focused on myself this last week and it shows. I've lost 2 lbs. I've been eating healthier and I've ben doing real exercises.  I've learned this weight will not budge without you put some effort into it, pill or no pill.  I wasn't using the pill all the time this week, nor watching the fat grams or calorie intake so much.  I need to add all that back in and stay with the eating healthier and the exercising, real exercising. I've been doing leg lifts and arm and waist exercises, at least 10 minutes a day rotating which area of my body I work on. I've also been drinking lots of water and cutting back on the sodas and learning to eat fruit when I want something sweet.  I'm also finding that doing Cross stitch and Crochet, anthing to keep my hands and mind busy at the same time keeps me from grabbing those easy to eat and nibble snacks.  Losing weight is all about making changes in all areas of your life. I think I'm finally on the road to success.  The key is to not give up.  The weight will come off when you get your mind and body woking together. I'm a particallary stubburn minded person so it takes me longer to adjust than some others.

    Re: My Daughter and I

Hello, i have lost 1 lb this week. I took my alli pill for three days with breakfast and diner. I did my exercise on those three days also. I am working myself back into daily exercises. I am staying with grilled chicken or fish, limiting the red meats and staying with my grilled veggies or stir frys. I am back on track

    Re: My Daughter and I

This last week has been a total disaster.  I was so busy showing my neice's mother-in-law around our town that I never did take time to take care of me.  I did exercise if you count walking all around town every day until my arthiritis in my knee caught up to me. I didn't eat any kind of meals really, just eating on the run.  Hopefully this coming week will be better as I can hardly walk at al due to my knee pain.  Also I can focus on myself again.  I've gained back, up to and over my starting weight of 216, now I weigh 217.

    Re: My Daughter and I

I'm very proud of myself this week. I have added exercise  and have cut back on what I'm eating and I've also found that keeping a food diary of everything I eat and drink helps me to control my eating better and I have switched to all diet sodas and unsweetened juices.  I'm also eating an apple every evening when the hunger pains before bed hit.  I'm also drinking my 8 glasses of water a day. Tomorrow I'm going to go back to taking my Alli tablets also.  If I want a sweet I alsways eat it with breakfast.  I've been eating cereal for breakfast and have found that if I don't eat a bowl of cereal I just don't have the energy throughout the day that the cereal gives me on the other days.

    Re: My Daughter and I

I haven't lost any weight this week, but the good news is I haven't gained any!!   I've been watching my calorie and fat intake and exercising, so I'm feeling good about this last week even though I didn't lose any weight.  I'm doing everything right.

    Re: My Daughter and I

Hello Again!  Another pound lost this week. Down to  213.  I'm losing slow but steady.  Ate alot of salads this week and drank lots of water.  I have cut way back on cabornated drinks and have been drinking diet orange soda but have even cut back on that.  I've been doing yard work and also I get up and move around more instead of always just sitting in a chair.   I've noticed that for the last two days that my knees from Arthiritis haven't hurt at all.  I wonder if just losing two pounds has already made a difference.

    Re: My Daughter and I

    Hi Gananama,

Every pound that you lose takes 4 lbs of pressure off of your joints. That means that those two pounds that you lost have taken 8 lbs of pressure off of your joints!

    Keep up the great work,

    Betty Kovacs, MS, RD
