Re: On the go breakfast ideas?

    Hi,

I'm a newbie to Alli, but a veteran to WW.  One recipe I love is a grilled peanut butter and banana sandwich I got from WW.  You use it on whole wheat toast and grill on your George Foreman(who doesn't have one---LOL) while getting dressed.  The peanut butter will give you some protein while the banana will give you that suger you need in the morning and wheat toast giver th fiber.  Wash it down with skim milk or water(or both) and you shoud stay full till snack time.  Your eating times are going to be a little different because of how early you have to get up. The biggest help for me is meal planning and preparing  meals at the beginnig of the week and freezing.

Toi is making dreams a reality!!!!

When I'm pressed for time in the morning, I layer some nonfat yogurt, berries, and lowfat granola into a plastic cup.  It's delicious!

    Started Alli(for 3rd time, but this time I'm sticking by it!): 6/30/08 5'3" SW: 144.5 CW: 143!(7/3/08) GW: 125

Re: On the go breakfast ideas?

I am also new to the  alli program and I am on the go. Have you found the Special K protein bars & diet plan can help in the conjunction with the alli program?  I have been fighting weight gain since unpleasent events have taken place in my life in the last 10 years. I have small grandchildren and want to enjoy them.

Re: On the go breakfast ideas?

    Hi!

i think the whole special K thing can work, but you have to eat more than they suggest.  If you don't, you basically end up wasting a pill at your first two meals...or you could simply not take a pill at all.  Remember if you are below 5 grams of fat it is a waste to take a pill.  If you are going to have special K for breakfast put some almonds on top to increase the fat amount.  Also i'm not quite sure about all the bars but some have over the recommended amount of fat per calories.

    Good luck!

Re: On the go breakfast ideas?

Another idea for breakfast that I do on the run is to put some whole grain cereal of some kind in a small bowl or ziploc bag. Pour a cup of skim milk in a good take along cup and have milk and cereal in the car on the way to work. It is high fiber and protein and keeps you full most of the morning and gives you that serving of milk you really need while you are dieting.

Re: On the go breakfast ideas?

WOW what great ideas. I should have read this first.  Just started, this is my fourth day.  What a wonderful find.

I am a grandmother of 6 and find it hard to keep up with them. Hoping this plan will get me back on track. I also am a lifetime member of W.W. I have put back on the 35 pounds that I lost back in 2001-02. I really think with what I learned at W.W. and taking Alli will be an advantage.

Re: On the go breakfast ideas?

I like frozen berries with yogurt- the berries can thaw out on your way to work and keep the yogurt cold.  Add some low fat granola to it if you want more fat.  I had that this morning with a few graham crackers.  Tonight I cooked up some turkey bacon and a couple hard boiled eggs for tomorrow (i won't eat the yolk in the eggs).  I may even throw in a piece of Weight Watchers bread for toast with I Can't Believe It's Not Butter Spray.  HTH!

Re: On the go breakfast ideas?

I'm a working mom and have NO time for breakfast in the mornings.  Here's what I've found to work for me.  I'm on the 1600 cal/day plan.

1 can Slimfast & 1 oz honey roasted peanuts = 330 cal  16 g fat  (could add snack pack of fruit for more calories)
    or
    2 Poptarts and 1/2 oz honey roasted peanuts = 475 cal  15.5 g fat

    Lunch is similar:
    1 can Slimfast & 3 Slim Jims = 317 cal  17 g fat
    or
    1 can Slimfast, pkg. peanut butter crackers & 1 slim jim = 425 cal  19 g fat

Starting my second week and it seems crazy to eat so many calories and grams of fat, but it makes sense after reading the boards.  I'm used to less than 1000 cal and 30 g fat, so alli feels like a vacation from dieting for me!

    Happy eating!

Re: On the go breakfast ideas?

This recipe is fast and easy:  Toast one multi-grain English muffin.  While it is toasting, line a small bowl with waxed paper and spray it with cooking spray.  Pour in 1/3 to 1/2 cup Egg Beaters and put it in the microwave for one minute.

Put the cooked Egg Beaters on one-half of the English Muffin (spray with I Can't Believe It's Not Butter if you wish).  I like to spread a little brown mustard on the other half.

Top it with one slice of low-fat cheese if you wish.  Makes a great "make and take" breakfast!  Add one serving of fresh fruit to balance the meal.  It is low cal and low fat, too!

I Can Do It and You Can Do IT, too!

Thank you, thank you, thank you for the info on Poptarts.  I had no idea.  I'll definitely use this!  Tampabayb
