    Re: drinking while taking alli

You know being that it's your first wk and you love sangria, this is my first wk too and I love strawberry dauquiri's. But we will manage and thank ourselves in the end especially when we get into that size we are working so hard for. It was really hard not to drink on my bday but I managed with the help of my 5 sisters and my son when we had lunch at the Blue Goose Cantina. It was nice. Our waiter brought myself , my twin and my son who turned 22 bite size sopapias w/cool whip & w/cinnamon. That we all shared so I was limited on that plus it took the sweet taste from the frozen magarita that I so wanted. I only had 2 bite size!!

    Re: drinking while taking alli

Aside from the effects of alcohol by itself, I won't take any artificial sweeteners. And without debating whether or not the body breaks aspartame down into ammonia, synthetic sweeteners at least give a false sense of security. Drink enough saccharin, e.g., and you get just as many calories as from your usual sugary drinks. I prefer taking liquor with pure water; no extra calories. If I wanted to get loaded faster, Gatorade may be a good mixer. It was invented to draw water into the body system 4X faster than drinking pure water, quenching thirst faster. With its combination of well-proportioned natural salts, it literally is "artificial sweat". My only question is:  Does alcohol impair the absorption of vitamins into the body, as Alli admittedly does? Is this effect exacerbated by taking Alli with alcohol? Anyway, yeast buds eat sugar and break it down into alcohol and carbon dioxide. That is how fermentation in wine and the rising of baking bread happen.

The sangeria flavor of Arbor Mist is pretty good (not like real sangria) but really not bad.  Calories = 150; Fat = 0 for an 8 oz serving.  I always have trouble getting my calorie count up to 1800 so this had worked for me.

    Cheers,

Since being on alli my alcohol of choice White Zenfindel or a White wine spritzer. I dont drink wine all the time when I have a craving for it I do have my glass or two. Red Wine is good for you anyway In moderation.
