    HEALTHY MEXICAN FOODS

    Hello  everybody,

Im getting ready to start taking the alli pills tomorrow, but im worried I will fail or have a really hard time with it due to the meal planns. Im a Mexican gal and I live with my parents. My mom does 98% of the weekely cooking since I work full time. Im looking for healthy low fat Mexican recipes. Any help would be appreciated.

    Re: HEALTHY MEXICAN FOODS

I found that when we go out to eat at a mexican resaurant (which is quite often), the easiest choice for me is to order the shrimp coctail. It loaded with lots of peppers and vegetables and giant shrimp. I usually pick out the avacado though because it has quite a bit of fat.

I, too, would also like to here any other ideas for "lightening" up mexican dishes.

oh man, i love mexican food! i think a few smart places to start would be, chicken or lean meats, go for a lighter fat cheese, go heavy on tomatoes, tomatillos, onions, peppers, etc - more veggies the better!!! and i have found these great tasting whole wheat tortillas that make it better for me too - i love a good chicken quesidilla on cold days, lol and these slight adjustments will make a HUGE impact for staying on track! also, i love avacado and i do believe its high in fat, but it falls under the 'good fats' so i indulge, lightly, with the avacados, lol. hope that helps! =D

    Blessings!
