    My First Week

I started Alli last Wednesday and except for one incident I've been right on with how I'm supposed to be progreesing.

I messed up and ordered a breakfast that I shouldn't have had and yes, I wore a rut in the carpet for the next couple of hours.

I'm also using a technique called conscious eating which has dramatically dropped the amount of food I'm eating. From double or triple portions if I want to be honest to not being able to finish a kids meal at Cracker Barrel.

Today, after one week, I have lost 9 pounds!  I couldn't be more thrilled.  A lot of people that I tell about Alli jump to the conclusion that it is a laxative and they invision being in the restroom all day every day.  That simply is not true.  On plan, eating properly, it has been the best thing out of the many that I've tried and has made a true believer out of me!

    Re: My First Week

That's so great! I just started the food yesterday and plan for my first dose to be Friday night or Saturday morning. It's good to hear that you lost 9 pounds in a week! That's crazy! What did you start at (if you don't mind me asking)?

Congrats on begining this weight loss journey.  Yes if you mess up and eat high fat foods, that carpet will soon be gone.

But even if and when you do "mess up" don't let it deter you, just get back on that horse and continue with the plan, it really does work.

    Re: My First Week

Thank you guys.  I'm excited.  I've tried just about everything for 20 years and this is the first time that I've incorporated a couple of things that together seem to be what is going to work for me.  With Alli, I really do take the time to stop, think about the craving I am having (I live in GA, everything is either fried or covered in gravy... LOL) and I know if I give in, I'm really going to pay for it.

Slowing down and enjoying my food. Amazing how good it tastes when you take the time to keep it in your mouth for more than 3 seconds. LOL

I don't mind at all sharing my start weight.  I was 281.5  After one week, I saw 272.5 staring back at me.  I did forget that I had a scale that would measure body fat. I need to do this as well.  It will retain my last weigh in, show me the difference and show my body fat %.

If I mess up and eat the wrong way, I don't look at it as failure. It's an opportunity for me to learn.

As my Pastor said one night..... The difference in Knowledge and Wisdom.  One is knowing and the other is putting it to use.
