    I've missed you...I'm sure Carol, Linda, Lynn and Melissa will remember you as we've all been in several challenges in the past!

    OF COURSE you can join in!! You will be the 14th person in the group! Just print off the rules of play from the June Challenge thread (or maybe it is on this one too?) I think I posted it toward the end of the June thread.

    Carol Joy here!

    80 minutes doing 10min intense cardio with 10 min light weights/high reps upper body...then repeating that 4 times = 80 min ! I sweated something off if not my bum! I used the Elliptical at a 6.5mph pace, and the treadmill at a 4.5mph pace with a 7% incline! WHOA!!!

    Glad to read the posts so far! Keep on trucking!

    clothing size: mostly 14s, some 12s, some 16s. My 16s and 18s for the most part are very loose (although I'm wearing them anyway because I don't want to buy a lot of new clothes because I'm hoping not to be this size for much longer)

    I actually haven't been tracking my measurements, but I don't think I lost any inches this month either because my clothes still fit the same. 

    My goal for the month is 185. Although it would really be nice just to see the scale moving. I cut back to 1600 calories as of a few days ago so maybe I'll see some movement in the next week.I hope.

    hi ladies  today i-- rode my bike for 10 mins

                               eliptical machine 1 mile 10 mins

                               weights  30 minutes

                               30 minute walk on treadmill with varying inclines and speeds ranging from   2.5 mph-4-3 mph... burned 142 cals

     

    intake today so far is 1550 cals/48 fg        i think i will have some fresh berries later

    I had to take it easy these past couple of days.  I ended up rupturing the labrum in my hip and have been having difficulty standing, let alone walking.  I told my hubby that I'm going to bite the bullet and get my butt out there and continue because I'll have a whole new hip on July 24.  I did have to meet him halfway and agree to use my cane again.   He's been trying to talk me into taking my pain meds but I don't take medicine unless it's absolutely necessary.  Pain is pain and I can work through it.

    Enough of that.

    hips: 41.5  ( down 7.5 in)

    waist 33.5   (down 5 in)

    thigh 22.5   (down 5 in)

    weight still holding between 163-166 lbs  down from 210 or so

    I have lost a total of  25 inches overall and from a size 18/20 to a size 8 sometimes 6

    Reporting for Monday 6/30

    Hello Ladies!

    Name: Brittany

    Minutes: 91 (I started out doing 2 min(4.0-5.0-6.0) intervals on the treadmill, but lately my shin splints have been bothering me whenever I use the treadmill, so I had to stop after 6 minutes because I couldn't take the pain anymore.  Does anyone else get shin splints like this?? Then I switched over to the elliptical and did 60 minutes there, and last I did 25 minutes of ab work and strength training with weights, machines, and the resistance band.)

    Oh, and Patti: I will say a prayer that the pain in your hip subsides!  I admire your strength and optimism when it comes to pain though!  Hope you feel better!

    Question about fat gram intake

    Forgot I had a question!

    My calorie/fat gram intake is supposed to be 1600/45, but I am almost always under when I plan out my meals.  For instance, today I was at 1559/33.  Is that okay??  I try to reach my target for each meal, but I try to avoid going over at any cost.

    And PS-Melissa: WOW!  You are truly an inspiration to me! 25 inches?? That's so awesome!

    Brittany try and get as close as possible....have you read betty kovacs why fat/calories important message on the boards...? it explains it better....

     and thanks .... I don't know if I am an inspiration but it is cool to hear it..especially since I have been on this plateau for 4 months now but I am trying really hard ..our group is awesome for supporting each other and caring for each other...

     Hello everyone, I forgot to post my goal for July. My goal is to lose at least 2 inches from my hips-- any suggestions on how to do this?  Also any suggestions on what to do with Tofu. Someone gave me a pack and I never cooked it before so I am in need of help...

    OMG girl!! PLEASE take it easy!! Maybe you need to sit this challenge out and get the surgury on the 24th and HEAL then come catch up to us once your Doc says it's okay! This sounds really bad and if you are in pain, I think you need to listen to your body! PLEASE reconsider trying to walk; try weight training or something without involving your hips. I am worried about you. Be safe!
