Re: a race to live....labor day challenge

     Hi Everyone:

Congratulations to those who lost this week and to those who are 'holding.'    I lost another lb this week which is very good as I am still unable to do much exercise.  I am up to walking 1 mile a day, which is very little.  I have added some isometric exercises every day in an effort to try to stay toned until I can get back into my routine.  It is amazing how quickly you can lose the muscle tone you have worked so hard for once you stop exercising.  My goal is to be back up to my old exercise routine in another  month.  I see the doctor on Thursday and I'll see how he feels about this.  I hope y'all have a great week.  It is hot and humid here so I have to get my little walk in done very early in the day.

Re: a race to live....labor day challenge

Looks like everyone had a good week....congrats! I gained 1 lb since last Monday, which is pretty good considering the cookouts we've had all week. I've also slacked off on my physical activity, so my goal this week is to get back on track. Nice to hear that your trying to get back into your routine Liz. 1 mile a day is still great! You'll be back to your old self in no time. Great job!

Hope everyone has a great week...stay positive and healthy.............

Re: a race to live....labor day challenge

     Hello everyone,

My computer is driving me nuts.  Tried my best to post for two days....Anyways I made it to the message board today, I have lost 1 little tiny lb!!  Atleast its not a gain....My son left on Sunday from Hawaii to Iraq.  Lots of tears, didn't want him to have to go.  Knew it was going to happen.  Just wasn't ready when he called on Wednesday to say he was going to be going on Sunday.  I hope everyone knocks out those lbs!!

Re: a race to live....labor day challenge

     Hello Everyone:

I did weigh in yesterday but I didn't get around to posting.  I lost one more lb.  It just goes to show that even a little activity can go a long way.  I am up to 2 miles a day walking!  That is still not what I was doing before, but at least I am making progress.   I have to get out very early in the day because it is very humid here in the summer.  I hope everyone is having a great week.

Re: a race to live....labor day challenge

     Hello everyone,

I have been really focusing on the water and reducing the salt intake.  I am down 4 lbs this week.  Walking two miles a day and exercise if I feel like it.  Eatting fresh vegtables, and just basically eatting fruit and veggies all day.   Water, walking, eatting, and exercise.  I hope everyone has had a great week.  It has really been hot here in Virginia too, so I have to walk around 8ish.  And It is a lot cooler than but still get hot and have to carry a frozen bottle of ice water and it has been melted by the time I am done with my two miles.  I am trying to stay busy, keep my mind off my son being in Iraq.  I miss him so much.  Exercise helps, I sleep so much better.  I hope everyone has had a great week.
