i have made like three posts about this and I swear i do not work for men's health magazine, but you should buy the book EAT THIS NOT THAT. It's by the editors of men's health, it's for everyone obviously, not just guys. The first section is like every fast food/chain place you can think of with the healthest things on the menu along with fat and calorie amounts, the other side of the page shows what is bad there and just how bad. They have grocery sections, a menu decoder like for Indian restaurants, sushi places, Chinese restaurants ect.., a grocery guide, alcohol guide, all sorts of stuff, it’s at like any bookstore, target might have it as well. It’s pretty small and yellow and I keep it in the car. Everyone likes looking at it, and making decisions off it is the best way to keep afloat if you have to go out, they have way more places than the alli booklet! We rarely go to fast food places, but the book helps me with all the other things in it.
I also always ask a lot of questions on how meals are prepared if i am going somewhere nice, and i ask them to do it without butter or oil if possible and all that type of stuff. I always ask for steamed veggies, and a baked potato if that is possible instead of greasy fat-filled sides. And if I have to have an appitizer i try to make it something that is healthy, like a starter salad or shrimp cocktail.
