    Hi There..

Hi, just thought I would introduce myself, this is week 1 with Alli. I had a gastric bypass 6 years ago, followed by 3 pregnancies including twins, so I never got to my goal weight and gained a bit back that I had lost. So far I feel I'm doing fairly well. I will weigh in on wednesday.

I am in Maine, my kids are still really young. Noelle is 9, Amelie is 4, Ezekiel is 3 and Anakin and Angelique are 2. My name is Carrie. I would really like to find one or two people to chat with as I am not real social at times

     Hi Carrie,

I would love to chat with you.  I'm in southern Illinois.  I'm 48, married with one daughter Rachel who is 15.  I just started on 7/5.  My first weigh in is 7/16.  I am doing ok so far, although anxious about my first weigh in.  I hope I have lost a few lbs so as not to get discouraged.  I have been following the plan pretty well, although have not been exercising.  I need to get with the exercise.  How are you doing so far?

    Re: Hi There..

same here. have been doing the program pretty well and have also probably lost a few pounds, but the exercise is my major issue. i have two children and a full time job......and exercise is really hard to add into my routine. I know these are probably just excuses, but unfortunatley they are excuses that have punch to them.

what i have done is if i see a basketball laying aroung the yard....i pick it up and throw some hoops. we have had two birthday partys to attend to in the last couple of weeks....so i have been able to throw myself out there by saying that i want to help keep the kids busy.

i played dodge ball, relay race, hide and seek with them. anything i could think of to keep my metabolism moving quickly! i can say that i did enjoy it very much.

i am trying to keep this all my secret due to the fact that i have tried so many diets before this. and i can also admit that i was successful on a few of them and did manage to lose real solid wieght. but i have never been able to reach my goal. or have i felt completely satisfied wtih my appearance.

i wish you the best in your journey and encourage you to keep checking in. today was just a rare morning for me and after reviewing your message it made me feel not so alone with this constant struggle.

thanks. keep up the good work!

    Re: Hi There..

     Hi Ysroxbury,

I can relate to keeping my dieting secret.  It seems that some people are waiting for you to fail..."so how are you doing, dieting again?".  I'm committed to losing the weight and don't want anyone to sabatoge that.  I bought a healthrider many years ago...and have dusted it off and will try to use it for 15 min...twice a day.  I started today, so I hope that will help.  The people here are sooo supportive and together we'll reach our goals.  Take care

    Re: Hi There..

     Hi Carrie,

I'm Beverly. I live in New Jersey. I just started Alli 6/20/08. My first week I lost 6 lbs. Wow right. My second week nothing. Ouch. Thats when I realized that the target fat of 19g per meal is something I never did before so I only end up eating around 6-10g per meal now. It was strange for me because I gained all this weight at work. Everyone there eats together and usually fast food or something heavy. I fell into that and ended up gaining 45 lbs. I have since lost a total of 8 lbs. and I weigh in on Saturday. I started exercizing just about everyday. I usually try to take a break one day a week but I am now addicted to the exercize, since I realized that I can actually do it. Although I have a long weigh, lol to go to get to 160-165. I am sticking with it this time. I hope you get where you want to be soon. Maybe we can cheer each other on. Good luck to you.

    Re: Hi There..

I'm 31 and on my second week.  I'm a mother of 1 four year old.  I know what you mean about the people at work encouraging you to eat and wanting to keep your diet a secret.  I also loss 6 pounds my first week and I am on my second week.  I either run way short on the fat grams or way over, but I know that I am eating healthier so I focus on that and not my fat grams.  If I focus on the fat I get stressed out and want to give up altogether.  If you are eating healthy why do you need to add in the extra fat grams?
