    Starting Stats

    Good morning ladies! 

    Here are my starting stats for the month:

    Waist: 32"

    Hips: 36"

    Thigh: 22"

    Arm: 12"

    Weight: 139.5!

    The last time I weighed myself was this past Thursday.  At that time I was 143.  Now I'm 139.5?!?  3.5 pounds in 5 days seems like a lot.  I was SO surprised when I stepped on the scale, but I think it's mostly water weight as I just got over my "time of the month."  I also lost some inches as well even though I'm not completely sure how accurate the numbers are because I could be measuring myself wrong or not in the exact same places I measured a week ago, but according to these numbers, I lost 2 inches off my waist, one inch off my hips, and one inch off my thigh.  I'm pretty sure this was all water weight though considering I usually gain 2-5 pounds when I get my period.  Still, it is exciting!

    Also, Carol Joy- That was me with the "portley puppy!"  LOL

     Carol Joy -  I too am going have to leave this challenge.  My husband has been real sick for a few months and I have to devote my time to him right now.  He had a kidney transplant in 1985 (his older sister was the donor)  and his body now is rejecting his kidney and is having alot of heath issue.  For the next month we have to make frequent trips (3 times a week) to see the kidney specialist which is about 60 miles from our home.  We are so lucky that his kidney lasted this long.  When it was done they told us the longevity of the kidney would be  about 10 to 15 yrs.   I'm going to try to get in my daily excerise in the early mornings but will not be able to post regulary as I will be only working half days until they have all test ran and results received before they decide what the next steps will be to getting him feeling good again.  I will miss everyone and have enjoyed being apart of this great group of ladies.  Maybe I will be able to join the August challenge if you have one.  I will try to pop in once in a while to how everyone is doing and update you on his progress.  

    PS:  Carol Joy, I want to wish you an early Happy Birthday and hope you have a great time on the trip you have planned.

    Okay ladies, I finally remembered to get my measurements!!!

    Waist - 47 3/4 in.

    Hips - 55 in

    That was all I measured!

    I'm just not that active outdoors during the hot and humid summer months.  Just going to the grocery store and running errands in this heat is enough to wear me out. 
     

    I can totally relate to what you are saying since I live in Arizona and it feels like it's about 1000 degrees out everyday.  You may have heard that it's hot, but it's a "dry heat" what a myth.  We are in monsoon season right now and the humidity has been well over 60% everyday, combined with our 100 plus degrees - YUCK!! I understand your humidity is heavier, and it is miserable.  It would be a shame for the outdoor portion of the challenge to stop you from participating - as the others have mentioned, maybe just count 0 points for the outdoor portion and still earn the other 2 points for each day.  Whatever you decide, best wishes on your continued success!!

    Carol Joy - Wow -- OK -- You talked me into it; I'm staying with the challenge (I should be good for 2 points.)   I was really depressed last night when I sent that message.  I was sure to miss you all.  Summer time is such a bummer for me.  I did all the fun things in the spring (hot--but not quite as hot) which included taking the street car to the French Quarter Festival and then going to the Jazz Fest both weekends.  Now I'm just praying for no more "Katrina's"!  I can't claim any points for yesterday; but today is a new day.  Thanks Carol Joy.

    I'm showered and back in bed.  I did bring my dumbbells in bed with me so I'll be getting some exercise.

    Carol Joy - Honey, you'll be pleased to know that I've kicked up my fats with good fats!

    Brittany - 139.5?  You go, girl!  Are you still at your shore house?

    Bobbi - I, too, live in Arizona and completely understand about the heat and humidity.  Just the other day it was 94 degrees with 70% humidity...and that was at 6 a.m.

     Hi everyone!!!  I'm back.  Actually, we returned late yesterday.

    Here are my beginning stats:

    Starting Stats for Carol:

    Weight: 160.0

    Waist: 37"

    Hips: 39.5"

    Thighs: 20"

    Size: Mostly 12's Some 10's

    My End-of-month goal: To weight 155!

    Now as for my posting for Monday,

    2 points, I walked for more than 45 minutes outdoors, on target with my meals, but we got home too late for me to do some "organized" exercise indoors. 

    Lynn, glad to see you will stick with us thru the challenge, I'd hate to see you go.

    Carol Joy, you keep us on track girl!!! 

    Brittany, congrats on your weight loss.

    As for the "heat wave" girls, I live in Florida and agree that it is hot, hot, hot!!!  I'm going to make sure I do my outside stuff early in the morning, so I don't melt.  LOL

     DAY 1 STATS:

    Waist: 35, Hips: 45.5, Thighs: 27, Weight: 193, Height: 5'9", Clothing: 12-14

    Goal: would like to be 185 by end of this challenge, but will settle for 188 (just want out of 190's).

    Indoor: strengthening/ wt training 30min (1pt)

    outdoor: power walking 3055 steps (1pt)

    Cal/fat: 500/0 on body cleanse this day and day before (0pt)

    DAY 2 STATS:

    Indoor: abs workout dvd 30 min (1pt)

    outdoor: power walk 30min 2798 steps(1pt)

    Cal/fat: 1780/45 (do I get the pt for this- 15 grams short on fat)
