    Hello Ladies,

     

    Just checking in to see how everyone is doing. All is well with me but this abnormal psychology class is killing me. I have papers due each week and of course I wait until the last minute to complete them. Anyways I need some advice on what exercise machines I should be working on at the gym?  I am trying to tone my body, decrease my hip size and flatten my abs... so any advice would be greatly appreciated. Forgot to add I just re-started my Alli diet yesterday and will re-start the pills this Friday. My first weigh in will be on July 31... one day before I turn 40 (Aug. 1).

    Don't forget me for the next group challenge!! (Please)

    patti-- wishing you a surgery that goes smoothly and a  recovery that goes just as well..stop worrying about your weight.. you will be fine...make  sure that you get enough calories and protein to heal..less is not better!!

    I've enjoyed all the comments about statistics ...   I guess misery loves company!  Actually, the class I'm attending is very practice-oriented so learning this and applying it could be very useful in my job.  It must also be causing insomina since I'm quite wide awake at 1:30 AM!!

    Patti - I don't even know what an acetabulum is but I'm praying for a quick recovery and no weight gain.  I would also be concerned that a major event in my health would cause a weight gain ... the weight gain is unhealthy and anyone going through something like a hip replacement wants better quality of life and a healthy weight is part of that.  Wishing you the very, very best (and, of course, matching jammies and robes!!). 

    Jayney - 40 lbs since Feb ... that's awesome!  Whatever goals you've met or haven't met, you've got to feel good about 40 lbs. (ever) but especially in that lengh of time!

    Thanks everyone, I did hit the 40 mark this morning! So if I can somehow squeeze out two more pounds before Saturday, I'll be to 230 before I fly out ---- YES!!!!!!

    This program and lifestyle change that I have gone through is........well, I don't know how to describe how I feel! The other day my son made the comment  --- why was I wearing make-up all of the time now? Well, my response was because I feel so much better about myself and I feel great and I felt like it. Notice how many I's there are in that sentence?! Learning how to put me into the picture and not just the kids! As a single mom I've always put the kids first, well, the kids will be graduating and out of the house in 2 & 3 years, and it'll be just me and will get to do what I want to, for a change -- so I'm learning how to do that now! Anyway, you gals have been such a huge help and it's been with your encouragement and thoughtful and helpful advice that I've stayed strong and gotten to where I am today! Bless you all!

    Interview was this morning.......it went really well.....

     

    I wore light colored slacks, a long sleeved silk blouse ingreen/peach hues paisley but not bold that I got from Ann Taylors very tailored fit

    tan pumps (just a slight heel) basic jewlery (my wedding ring and pearl studs and chain.....

    Other than still feeling a little under the weather from the stomach bug I think it went well should here something in  about  2-3 weeks as the hospital finishes up interviews and narrows down the candidates....
