    Jayne....Congratulations on hitting the 40lb mark!! Good for you for wearing make-up daily AND caring about your appearance! You've worked hard and I know you can get off another 25-40 by Christmas!! NEVER stop trying; THAT is the secret!

    Patti......I think of of us are wishing you great success with your surgery and a minimal pain, fast recovery! Check in when you feel up to it and be sure to have lots of protein drinks to keep your lean muscle mass!

    Melissa....Sorry you fell ill but am happy to hear you had a good interview! Now just let nature take its' course and the right job will be found! Nice to see a 4lb loss, but keep in mind it could just be from low fluids too. I'm hoping it sticks, but eaither way it is more important to be healthy!

    Skye.....Yes, I will keep a spot for you for the August Challenge! Do post back here on the 27th for more information. Glad to learn you have 're-started!' Now take that Alli with EVERY meal!! That is how to be SURE you'll follow your cals/fat grams!!

    I won't be back to post until Saturday. I am going to spend a day and a half with my family (mom has Alzeheimers and staying with sis that is 4yrs older than me. I'll get all caught up by midday Saturday. Remember Sunday is the LAST DAY of the challenge! Keep it up!

    Melissa good luck with the job interview! I have a nursing license and worked as a nurse for 20 years, but ALWAYS had a hard time with the consevative thing (you might pick that up when I finally get a picture loaded to post...). I was a good nurse, but finally went back to school about 15 years ago and got a degree in interior design, which "fits" me much better...

    Lynn I've been away from the challenges this year until now, and I was so sorry to read about all you've been through. You're amazing to stick with a commitment to weight loss through all that. You have my sincere best wishes for the future.

    Carol sorry to hear about your food poisoning... and welcome back!

    Jayney big congratulations! 19 points for last week AND a 40 pound loss! I'm glad you started thinking about yourself instead of just your kids... as a single mom who gained over a 100 pounds but finally got back on track I know how hard that can be sometimes. I know you have the commitment to go all the way!

    1 point only for each day. I have been stressed out beyond belief so it's a miracle that I even stuck to my nutrition goals. I have to take my clinical licensing exam tomorrow. Plus today I had a really stressful day at work where I had to help a co-worker hospitalize her client and then all my clients were waiting and I got really behind and everything sort of spiraled. I had a little bit of a pity party tonight, but I should be back on track with exercising after my exam tomorrow since it's in the morning. Fortunately thinking about all of you stopped me from stress eating so I at least stuck to my calories even if I haven't gotten a chance to exercise. Plus my husband is quizing me for the exam and taking care of me.Although I feel a little selfish complaining about all this when Patti is having her surgery.

     

    Tomorrow after my exam I will catch up on everyone's posts. Hope everyone is having a really good week.

    I survived statistics class ... my regular work is behind and it's been an exhausting week!

     Hi Ladies.  I've gotten caught up with things and have not kept up with the challenge for the last couple of days.  My oldest daughter had a hysterectomy yesterday and I was at the hospital from 5:45 a.m. till the time we (my daughter and her husband) left in the afternoon to go home after one-day surgery.  I spent the rest of the day and night with them and my three grandchildren.  My daughter was in pain so bad that after being up all night we decided that she should go to the emergency room.  She's doing better today--but oh the stories I could tell about last night.  I came home exhausted this morning with my worse then ever headache, neckache and backache..I officially got off that drug that has made my arthritis sooo much worse yesterday for three weeks but it takes a while to leave my system.  After three weeks the doctor will put me back on another drug that's been around for a while.

    The good news is we are going on a  Eastern Europe and the Black Sea river cruise tour.  We will start off in Budapest, Hungary then on to Croatia, then Belgrade, Serbia, then Ruse, Bulgaria and finish up in Bucharest, Romania.  I am very excited that we were able to get back on that cruise tour.  It was the one we cancelled after we found out about my condition.  Our friends urged us to keep trying to get back on (after finishing my treatments) since there are cancellations.  Yes--we leave this coming Tuesday.  If I have a bad day of aches and pains, I can always stay on the boat--but knowing me, I hate to miss out on anything and, walking is good for you!

    We return on August 10th, so I'm afraid I'll not be able to join the challenge--but, there is always September.  I will be checking in on everyone before I leave and when I get back.

    Jane - Thanks for asking about me.  Jayne -What an achievement!  You must feel very proud of yourself--you should!!
