    High fat, low cal?

Does anyone have any suggestions of foods that are high in fat but low in calories? I have a challenging time staying below the calorie range but getting the fat content high enough. I have to eat about 18 grams of fat for lunch and dinner and I often have to resort to peanut butter. I would love any suggestions!!

i keep almonds and stuff around.  you really can't eat a lot of them but i they are a good way to get the fat up.  each almond is about 0.8 g fat, 6 calories.  I am talking about raw almonds, not roasted or anything like that.

I have the same problem. Like the previous person I also add almonds to a meal just so I reach the fat count. Another good choice is avocado. 1/2 avocado (100 g) has 160 kcal and 15 g of fat. And as a bonus it also has 7 g of fiber. You can have a sandwich with 1/4 avocado spread on each side and sprouts in the middle.  One other suggestion is to add 1 oz of ground flaxseeds to cereal or smoothies. They add 150 kcal and 12 g fat and 8 g fiber. And one more suggestion is to blend a mango with water (2 cups plus a few icecubes) and 2 cups of fresh spinach and add 1 tbsp of flaxseed oil (110 cal 11 g fat) or coconut oil (120 cal 14 g fat) to it. Both oils taste delicious and the mango has about 165 cal and 1 gram of fat per 100 grams of fruit. That mango/spinach smoothie tastes delicious without the oil and I usually have it that way as a snack without the alli pill. Good luck to you and I hope lots of other people leave suggestions because I'm running out of ideas myself.

String cheese is another good snack that is higher in fat and lower in calories.  I can always use extra calcium too!  A 12 oz. string cheese has 80 calories and 6g of fat.

Olive oil added to low or fat free dressings or on grilled veggies. Healthy fat and easy to control the portion size. One teaspoon is about 5 g fat. 2% cottage cheese, reduced fat peanut butter, hulled sunflower seeds or olives on a salad, dip made from light sour cream and dry ranch mix. Walnuts or pecans added to hot oatmeal or cold cereal.Reduced fat (not fat free) cheeses.
