    Alli and presciption medicine

Hi, I am interested in taking Alli, but I am also on Lexapro...

Is it safe to take them both at the same time?

    Re: Alli and presciption medicine

Hello. alli is safe to use while taking Lexapro. There are no known significant interactions. I suggest you tell your doctor and pharmacist about using alli and about all the over-the-counter medications you take - as well as the vitamins, minerals, herbal products and nutritional supplements. This way, they can take the best care of you.

Best of health and good luck on the alli plan - let us know how we can help!

    Re: Alli and presciption medicine

Hello, I had my thyroid removed about 4 years ago and I take Levothyroxin. Is Alli safe to use with that?  I became displeased with my last Doctor so I am currently between Doctors and don't have one to ask.

    Thank you.

    Hi mrst68,

Alli will not interfere with the effectiveness of levothyroxine and you should continue to take this medication as been prescribed ( 1 hour before meals or any other medication).

As the alli label states you do need to check with your physician prior to alli use when taking thyroid medication, since with weight loss you may need a dose adjustment of the levothyroxine and more frequent monitoring of your levels.  In understanding your dilemma, you do need to find a physician who you can trust as well as someone to oversee your health soon.

    Hope this helps.
