Re: Anybody want to be my weight loss buddy?

Hi Karen,  Sure I will be your loss weight buddy.  I stared Saturday July 12th and I have not weighed in since the 10th.  I have a Sister (in the Lord) who weighs me once a week on Thursdays and measures my inches once a month.  I started my weight loss about two week prior to coming to Alli. What made me decide to join was a client of mine who looks great and really lost some weight. She told me she did Alli for a year and it was awesome. I know I have lost weight but I do not know how much. I am excited to weigh in this Thursday.  I do not get online everyday maybe 3 to 4 times a week. I hope that is enough to help.

what made me decided to loose weight? I turned 40 and my thought was now or never. Not to mention I met a man who stated he would have been interested if I was thinner. He wasn't all that and the chemistry was little but it had an effect. The Bible says men are attracted by sight and women by touch. There is a llittle of my story. Feel liberty to share or not to. Be encouraged you can do it. You only have to handle one day at a time and if that gets to tough then it is one bite at a time. Talk to yourself and tell yourself I am able to make these changes. I have control of my life. Zoe

Re: Anybody want to be my weight loss buddy?

     Hi Zoe,

We have more in common than you might have imagined.  I think my decision to loose weight (again) was age based.  I am having my 50th birthday in a few months.  Each decade seems to have an impact.  I lost 29 pounds with Weight Watchers a couple of years ago.  I have slowly put some of that weight back on.

I think it is great that you have a Sister that is supporting you.  I am kind of on my own with this, but that is ok.  I am talking it up to some friends and coworkers and I hope to have some friends working with me soon.

I am glad to see that you are focused on the Lord in this process.  (Ignore the man who "would have been interested if" you "were thinner".)  I, too am a very focused on the Lord.  We probably have different beliefs, but the same focus.

    Karen

P.S.  Now, If I could just figure out how to add someone to my favorites.  : (

     Hi Vicki,

I was able to add you as a friend so we should be able to keep in touch.  Wow 4 pounds in only 2 weeks, awesome!  You must be workig harder than I am.  I am amazed with being able to loose at least a pound a week with as little effort as I am putting in to it.  If I really worked at it, I can only imagine how quickly I could loose.

Look forward to hearing your success stories.

Re: Anybody want to be my weight loss buddy?

Hi again Karen,  I do not know how to add people as a friend either.  I clicked on your name and it took me to your profile and I clicked on add to favorites and now your picture is on my profile.  But how you use that profile page I have no idea. I hope I didn't mess your up. I am not very good with these things.  I read over what you wrote to Zoe about having a birthday soon.  Me too. I will be forty on 9/1.  I guess that is why I am going so strong at losing weight.  My husband tells me I am crazy that he loves me the way I am.  But I am not doing this for him I'm doing it for myself.  Good luck on your goals this week and I hope to keep in touch.  Vicki

Re: Anybody want to be my weight loss buddy?

Hi everyone...not sure how this whole buddy things work if you have a partner. But I would like to share that I am in my 2nd week of Alli and I have lost 9 pounds already! Though I am excitied I am wondering if that is too much in such a short time? I take 3 pills a day with each meal...and I follow the Weight Watchers Points Program. I do not exercise...though with 6 children I am quite active all day long. Anyhow...if anyone else has lost that much weight in a short time please email me so I know I am not the only one.  By the way,  not to confuse everyone but my name is also Karen!

Hi Karen S, Wow nine pounds in 2 wks is wonderful!!!!  I am so happy for you.  I am sure with 6 children there is not much time for yourself.  I grow up in a family of 6 on a dairy farm.  I loved having a big family growing up.  If you find anything out about the buddy thing let me know.  Keep up the good work!!!  Vicki

Re: Anybody want to be my weight loss buddy?

    Hi Karen,

How exciting to have lost 9 pounds!  I, too, would be a little worried that it might be too quick a weight loss. (But not too worried - mostly thrilled!)  Weight Watchers, like Alli, says a 2 pound weekly loss is best for long term weight loss.  I hope you are remembering to take your vitamins at night.  I think you are supposed to take them at night so that you body will absorb more of the vitamins - less Alli in your system.

When I did WW, I did the points program too.  I learned tons from WW.  I definitely think it is the healthiest path to weight loss.  Alli has been sooooooo much easier for me.  All I am doing is taking Alli twice a day - with lunch and supper.  I usually don't have much if any fat with my breakfast.  (Fat free yogurt and fruit usually)  I am more aware of the fat content in my meals, but I am not counting points or caleries.  I am sure I would have more wieght loss if I kept track of everything, but I am very pleased to be loosing a pound or two a week.

I am only 10 pounds away from my WW goal weight.  I am a lifetime member of WW so if I get back to my goal weight - with the help of Alli, I can start going to WW meetings again for free.  I really do benefit from having weight losss buddies.  At the WW meetings we all get excited for each other.  Each time someone has a 5 pound loss, meets a goal or just makes a positive change.

I really appreciate how you and others are willing to be my weight loss buddies.  Having friends who are cheering you on really helps!

I look forward to hearing how your weight loss progresses.  Are you having headaches or any other side effect from the quick weight loss?  I hope everything keeps going great for you!

Once I reach my WW goal weight, I hope to loose another 10 pounds.  I think then I can stay at a healthy weight.  so my long range goal is about 155.  I think I look my best at that weight.  (My WW goal weight is 164.)  I am fine with it taking me 10 weeks to get to my WW goal weight especially if I can continue loosing a pound of too without too much work.

I am a BIG Alli fan!

    Karen
