    Re: Ladies of Faith Club

     Hi,  It would be so nice to have the support of fellow Christians while I go through this process of finally trying my best to lose weight. I am new to this site and to Alli.  This is my first week on Alli and I am seriously gonna do it this time. I am from the south and can relate to the ones of you who know how we eat here in the south. Its awesome food but can sure pack the pounds on. I was only a size 4 when I got pregnant some 25 years ago. I just could never seem to lose the weight.  I was cooking then for a husband who loved to eat and never gained a pound and was busy raising kids and the pounds just crept up on me until one day almost 20 years later my husband asked for a divorce because he didn't like me "big".   I am 5'9" and was a size 12 then.  I am still a 12.  I carry my weight well but I long to be thinner not thin.   I am trying to lose about 30 lbs and this has never been easy for me as I do well for a while and then gain it back because I don't have the support I need.   I have finally turned this over to God as I was never doing that before and I feel I really have the motivation to do this now. I am tired of my clothes all fitting too tight and want to feel and look better for no one else but just me.  I would appreciate the support from anyone and ask for prayers from those of you who are Christians like myself and let's walk this walk together.   Thanks and good luck to each one of you.

     Hi!  I have been on Alli for about four weeks, and so far have lost nothing.  I am interested in the on-line weekly meal plans.  Where do I find them??

    Thank you!

    Re: Ladies of Faith Club

     Ok let's get to know each other.  Well my name is Evelyne I am 35 almost 36 (Oct. 2nd), I have three beautiful children, Samantha (16), Nathaniel (14), and Sierra (11), I am married to a wonderful and supportive man (Chris), we live in Hobbs, New Mexico, I have 5 dogs, 6 cats, 2 birds, and 2 goats!  I recently acquired my goats and they are my pride and joy (next to my kids of course!).  I have been struggling with my weight for many, many years and I am tired of struggling.  Samantha and I recently joined Curves to help us with the weight loss.  So far, we have gone to Curves for 2 weeks now, and with the help of Alli, I have lost 5 1/2 lbs.  I am looking forward to being able to run around with my kids and my husband (he is a very active man) and not have to tell everyone to slow down.  My start weight was 250 lbs, currently at 237, and my ultimate goal is to get down to at least 175.  I am 5' 6" and I carry my weight fairly well, but I would love to be in a size 10/12.  There was one point in my life where I was in a size 12 and I felt so good.  Then, life happened!  I went from weighing 175 to 285 lbs.  Well, I started losing weight and got from 285 down to 225 but then the stresses of life kicked in again and I went back up to 250.  Now, like I said, Sam and I go and work out at the very least 3 days a week and more if at all possible, so I am bound and determined to lose the weight.  Well, I hope to get to know more of you as the time goes on.  God bless!!!

     KPWITT - It's good to know that there are other Arkansas people out there struggling. I live in NE Arkansas in a very small town I'm sure you haven't heard of.  I hope your first few days on Alli are going well. I know when I first started the first week was the hardest on TE's and then it got better.  I have lost a total of 22 lbs so keep going.

    Re: Ladies of Faith Club

    Is there room for one more?  My name is Tamara.  I live in Southern Illinois with my husband, two sons, two dogs,two cats and a pet tarantula!  We are like any other American family and always on the move.  Since the birth of my last child I have been gaining weight at a rapid rate.  I am really frustrated and try to exercise but I can barely get enough sleep as it is.  As far as the diet, I have a hard time trying to stick to my Alli plans.  How is everyone else doing?

    Re: Ladies of Faith Club

     Welcome Tamara!  There is always room.  I've gained all my weight since the birth of my child also (which was 4 years ago).  I think it is time I do something about it.  I'm bigger now than when I was 9 months pregnant.  I'm a stress eater and my bundle of joy is very stressful.

    Does anyone have over weight children?  Mine is definitely overweight and it breaks my heart. The problem is she doens't eat a lot of unhealthy foods but she is still overweight.

    Re: Ladies of Faith Club

     Good evening, ladies!  I also gained my weight after I had my 2nd child, who is 10.  jskdean76, I totally get the being bigger now than you were full term pregnant!  Meee toooo.

    My 12 year old, who is nearly 13, is overweight.  It is heartbreaking.  She doesn't look too bad, but lots of girls her age are super skinny!  The dr. tells me my 10 year old is too heavy, but honestly, I just don't see it.  She looks just average to me.  Maybe a bit too heavy in the belly, but that's it.  Both of my girls play soccer and my 10 year old cheers, so they are somewhat active.

    I am trying a recipe tonight for "Pork Parmesan" that I found here on the website ...will let you know how it turns out!

    Perhaps we should share some of our favorite encouraging Bible verses?  Here is one of mine:

    Psalm 139

    13 For you created my inmost being;
           you knit me together in my mother's womb.

     14 I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made;
           your works are wonderful,
           I know that full well.

    Re: Ladies of Faith Club

     I am glad to find this thread. It is indeed exciting to hear all of the success stories being told. By the way I am from Lovington, just up the road from you. I am now in Colorado but lived in Lovington until I was 30.

    Re: Ladies of Faith Club

    Hello ladies! I am new to alli and will be starting my first dose on Monday, Feb 2nd. I am 35 years old and have two wonderful children (12 & 16) and a super supportive husband. I am also a stay-at-home homeschooling mom.  I want to lose weight to #1 feel better, #2 be healthy for my family, and #3 to take care of the body the Lord has given me. The past five years have been very stressful for our family, but I have always struggled with my weight. Five years ago, I got remarried to a wonderful man. We had only been married 3 months when my little boy was diagnosed with a brain tumor. He had brain surgery to remove the tumor, but it grew back within 6 months. We waited a year and the Lord led us to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in Memphis, TN. He went through 30 treatments of radiation and 3 years later the tumor is still stable--Praise God! Through all of this my husband started having issues with his diabetes and my daughter began having stomach issues. I have been bettling chronic pain for the last 4 years and have been recently diagnosed with arthritis, fibromyalgia, IBS, & insomnia. The pain keeps me awake a lot so I suffer from severe fatigue some days. I am hoping that by getting this weight off, it will help. I have learned to cherish each day and treat it as a gift. Due to my son's tumors, he has gained a lot of weight (due to pituitary damage which causes thyroid and metabolism issues as well as hormonal imbalances and he cannot regulate his body temp). I am the only one taking the pills, be we are all going to be going the meal plans. My entire family is being so supportive and I only pray that I can find others on this site that would like to be motivating buddies. God bless you !
