    3 Days on Alli

I've been on Alli for 3 days and I checked my weight loss and I haven't lost anything. I know it's too early to really tell, but I know a lot of people lose on the first week. I'm under my calorie intake I'm meant to have 1800 and I'm having anywhere between 1400 and 1500. For my fat grams I'm meant to have 19 I seem to be meeting it half of the time. Like yesterday I had 2 pieces of whole wheat toast with peanut butter 18 grams of fat. This morning I had an English muffin with an egg total grams of fat was 6, so I'm not sure if I'm really following it right.

    Any advice would be great

    Natalie.

natalie...alli works best whenyou follow the calorie/fat gram  plan CLOSELY... --not less..in this case less is not better...read   what betty kovacs has to say .. in my opinion you are way too low on the calorie/fgs..read labels, drink water,    record   everything you eat so you know where you stand...oh yeah and take a walk or a bike ride.. or whatever you like to do to get moving for 20-30 mins every day..that will help too....keep posting...and try not to forrage when you are bored...stay busy............good luck..kathy

    Re: 3 Days on Alli

    Hi Natalie,

It is way too early to know if the plan is working. You need to cut out 3500 calories in order to lose 1 lb and doing that in three days is highly unlikely. All that you need to monitor is your weekly weigh-in weight. Your weight can vary up to 7 lbs in one day so there may even be times when you do everything right and don't see a loss at your weekly weigh-in. That does not mean that you did not lose any weight. It can just be fluids and/or bowels that are temporarily increasing your weight. Take a look at the two posts that I have on the beginning of this board about reaching your fat and calories for more details on how to make this plan work for you.

Let me know if you have any other questions,

    Re: 3 Days on Alli

Thanks Betty that helped. Today I weighed again and I put on one pound, I don't get it. My bowel movements are regualr every morning, infact I feel better for eatting the way I am.  Before I was having iregular movements. I'm trying so hard to keep to 1800 cals and my 19 grams of fat. Yesterday I had 1750 and had 17 - 19 grams of fat per meal. I want this so bad to work for me.

    Re: 3 Days on Alli

    Hi NatalieLucy,

I do understand how frustrating it is not to see the scale go down when you are working so hard. It's best to stick with a plan for at least 2 weeks before making any changes to it. Keep monitoring your calories and fat intake. You may want to weigh or measure some of your food to make sure that you are accurate with the quantities that you are consuming. If you are anywhere near your menstrual cycle your weight could be fluctuating from that. You can gain up to 5 lbs during that time of the month. It does come off so you would see the changes next week if this is the case.

Keep me posted on how you are doing,

    Betty Kovacs, MS, RD
