    Starting Over

I did great the first 2  months on Alli.  I lost 18 pounds. Kids got out of school for the summer and my schedule changed. I gained the weight back plus more. Im not sure how to go about this now. Any advice? I feel really lost.

    Re: Starting Over

I am starting over after being off alli for almost a year.  The first time I lost almost 20lbs and have gained back about 15.  I don't know yet because I haven't got on the scale yet.  What I do know is I just have to make the choice to do the right thing.  No one else can do it for me but with reminders from the site and friends I know I can get back on track.  I just take one day at a time.  Today is my first day.  I did well.  Tomorrow I will have two days.  The next thing I know I will be back on the right track.  Just take one day at a time.  Enjoy the small successes.

    Re: Starting Over

    Hi Rickjesshall,

There is nothing that you can do about the past so it's best to learn from it and move on. As long as you think about the weight that you regained it is going to make losing it more difficult. Take some time to come up with a plan for what to do the next time that your schedule changes to prevent regaining your weight. It's a good idea to have a plan for when you are starting to see your weight go up. For example, once you have regained 5 lbs you need to reach out for help or come up with a more restrictive eating plan. Have that number in mind along with the plan and use that to get you back on track.

    How does that sound?

    Re: Starting Over

How about just setting a goal of five pounds?  Once you've hit that goal, set another small one.  Sometimes having a specific date in my when setting the goal helps, like maybe by Labor Day.  I don't know how much you have to lose, but say it's 60 pounds, that seems like so far away, so set it for 5 and then reward yourself when you hit that one.  It's kind of like the AA slogan, one day at a time, just make this one pound at a time.

    Good luck,

    Judy

    Re: Starting Over

I was on Alli diet from August 2007 - November 2007 and had lost 30 lbs. when Alli pills stopped working.  So  I just quit taking them, little by little I'd forget to take them.  Now I've gained back 25 lbs.  Will the Alli pills ever work for me again?  When I was on the diet, I would check in every week, set up my meal plan for the week on the Alli website, print out my shopping list and off I'd go to the store.  I'd follow my meal plan and recipes and I did great.  Then all of a  sudden it just stopped and I lost interest because I wasn't losing anymore and I still had 30 lbs. to go.  How do I get this all working again?

    Re: Starting Over

I would say follow the plan like you did the first time.  Key is printing out your shopping list before you go to the store, and then only buy what's on it.  Keep the crap out of the house.  You know what to do, just push the Start button.   Good luck.
