Losing weight and on a mission

My mission is not only to lose weight for myself(approx 75 lb) but I also need to do it before I have my second child. I actually weigh more than when I was preggers w/my first son. My hubby and I made a agreement that if I lose 50 lb we will try for our second. I have lost 17 lbs so far since the start on June 1, 2008. I am happy but just wish it was a little more. I don't feel like I have lost that much. I don't feel my clothes dangling although I have gotten comments that people can tell I am losing weight. I am not satified nor should I be yet. I have been doing hip hop areobics twice a week for an hour but haven't fit any other excerise time in so that could be why I feel like a lump still. Can anyone share there stories of there sucess of losing 50 lbs or more? Also any helpful hints on how to manage working 8-5, cooking dinner, excerise and having time for you child and rest of you family? I feel better when I work out but can't seem to manage home life w/gym life. Thanks ya'll and good luck to you!

hey kim.... does your husband help with your son???  would it be possible that he gives you 45 minutes or an hour so you can do your thing??if not, i guess you could take your son with you and push the stroller..or alternate days with just you time and you and son time..is there a neighbor or neighbor kid that can take him for your workout time?? does your gym have childcare available?? in a way.. you sorta need to prioritize your needs.. the dusting will keep.. maybe your husband can make dinner???the crockpot comes in handy too...i know its a battle.. been there, lived to tell about it...good luck... kathy

Re: Losing weight and on a mission

    Hi Kimmirae,

I think that you have every right to be satisfied with where you are at. It's important to give yourself credit for the work that it takes to lose any weight, and also the work that it takes not to gain any weight. I realize that you have a very big incentive to reach your goal, but being too hard on yourself really won't help. The goal is to lose between 1 and 3 lbs per week and that means that you are right on target. I recommend giving it three months before you will notice the changes in your clothes and appearance. As long as you keep moving forward you will see the difference so hang in there!

    Keep up the great work,
