    Re: August Challenge update

    Hi Ladies!

I posted everyone on the thread that has been lost to cyberspace.

I got home for the hospital Sunday afternoon.  Surgery went well.  The surgeons happened upon a surprise which stopped the operation and they had to do some brainstorming.  Needless to say, the 2.5 hours surgery turned out to last 5 hours.

As for the August challenge, I'm out.  I'm going to be doing my own type of challenge with my walker.

My cousin brought over some cheesecake brownies and gave one to me.  It took all day to eat it because of the sweetness.  It has been so long since I've eaten anything like that.  I will admit that it was DELICIOUS but I will also admit that I didn't crave another piece nor did I have the feeling of "I miss this kind of food."

Let's hope this thread doesn't get lost.

    Cheers,
    Patti

    Re: patti

patti ... it sounds like you are doing very well... i hope your recovery progresses like you want it to, but i know it is NEVER fast enough... dont starve yourself.. you need healthy food to recover..walking will be your excercise and it will probably wear you out... so do not overdo it.... rest when you are tired or in too much pain.. thats your clue to stop.. i KNOW you will be back better than ever real soon....you are in my thoughts and prayers... think good thoughts..with all the weight you lost before your surgery..it will make your recovery that much easier..well done!! ...........kathy

keep in touch with us  ... i would love to know how you are doing in the next few weeks..

Re: To all my Challenge girls!

Good luck, ladies, with the August Challenge!  I'm going to be keeping an eye on this thread to see how everyone is doing.

My recovery is very slow, so, I'm having to learn patience.  Not very fond of learning that technique right now because I want to be better NOW.

Carol Joy:  You are spot on with the "enjoy the little things of life" because I was able to sit outside for 10 minutes and within that time I saw a hooded oriole in my yard.  Plus, my mom hung a thistle sock at my bedroom window and I've been watching the lesser goldfinches all day from my bed.  Watching the wildbirds is my kind of meditation and it's a wonderful way to pass the time.

    Ladies, you're the greatest!

    Cheers,
    Patti
