    Confused.....Help!!!

I have been on Alli for a week now and according to the books I am soposed to have 1600 calories and 54g of fat per day. I have tried this a almost want to vomit from all of that food. Am i doing something wrong or should I drop down to the 1200 calorie catagory? This past week I have only lost 6lbs which is great but if I eat more will I lose more?  I exercise every night and walk over 10,000 steps at work. Please help. thank you.

    Re: Confused.....Help!!!

It all depends on the foods you are eating.  The reason you feel like vomiting is because you are forcing yourself to eat a lot of foods that are low in fat.  Therefore you have to eat more in order to get the fat grams in.  Try to vary your foods so that some are higher in fat.  Don't misunderstand and take that as eating very fatty foods because you will then experience TEs.  For example, try to add light oils to salads, or choose low fat instead of fat free.  Add a few nuts to your diet.

I know it can be hard to start a new "diet", but you soon will get to know which foods your body can handle and which you can't have.  I hope this helps. -Mel

    Re: Confused.....Help!!!

    Hi Erin,

The calorie and fat goal that you are given is based on the information that you provided. The goal is to lose weight at a healthy rate. When you go too low in calories you will lose too quickly. I know that it can be hard to understand how you could ever lose "too quickly," but it's true. I have two posts on the beginning of the personal experiences board that will explain all of this in detail. Take a look at the one about reaching your recommended amount of calories and the one about reaching your recommended amount of fat.

Let me know if you have any other questions,
