Hi again! SO GOOD to be back with you all!! I reached the office of the IT tech repair man I use and hopefully he'll collect his message before he arrives; if not, I'll be charged $50 for a trip charge!! He is pretty cool and we've used him atleast 5 times this year as my computer is ready to hit the big tech-graveyard in the sky any minute now!! Apparently, my husband sent an email at AT&T reporting he could not send any email to either of our home computers from his office computer. So they decided to close our accounts and re-establish NEW accounts ONCE he accessed them and gave the 'ok'....well he was out of the office for 3 days and never got his email until he checked his computer. So he got his all set up this past Friday night, but mine wouldn't connect! I guess once I sut it down, it re-booted and when I turned it on today, POOF!!! Internet access!!!!!!!!!!!!
WOW....is that the most boring post you've read since being an Alli member? LOL! Sorry.....
ANYWAY...I cannot get over how LONELY it is without the support of this group! I felt isolated and unmotivated! I missed the daily contact as well and felt like I just lost 11 good friends! I guess when I DO get to my goal weight, I'll still never be able to leave this website!! haha
I am happy to read so many good reports! I am still waiting for 5 people to post their days so I can give you a weekly total of points earned. This is all the peeps that heve reported all 7 days thus far:

CONGRATS on your 2lb loss last month and your 1" off your waist!! HOORAY! Good girl!
Kathy...
Congrats on YOUR 2.5lb loss during last months' challenge!! Hoo-Rah! See Sharons' post in regards to THR please.
Jayne....
New photo my dear? Your hair looks darker and no specs!! Looking good AND thinner too!
Sharon....
yes, BP does alter your HR... but you can use the RPE monitoring method (Ratings of Preceived Exertion) to check how hard you are working out! Same goes for you Kathy! Read the explantion below AFTER the remainder of these messages.
Carol...
okay girlfriend! I am going to bust your chops 'cause I know you would want me to!! Do you remember the swanky little cruise you are soon to take? Remember you'll be wearing a bathing suit?? How about all your new clothes you'd like to sport as well? You are SO CLOSE to your goal...this is NO TIME to fall into bad habits and laziness!! You picked me up when I was low last fall, YOU were an example to me of percervierence, commitment, and a "can-do" attitude!! Where is that now? You get yourself back into gear honey or I'll have to fly there and personally train you myself....THAT will NOT be fun...lol!!!! Come on now...do it!!!!
Patti...
So good to hear from you! I am sorry to learn of your tough first week. You MUST eat honey or your body cannot get strong enough to build itself back up!! Good on you for having your own personal challenge!! I know just how much you are able to do, so I know you can do this too! Get better REAL soon dear!
For Kathy and Jane (and everyone else that either cannot, will not or doesn't want to bother with taking their HR! p.s. Certain meds DO interfere with max HR and thus and accurate THR is difficault to assertain.
RPE: Ratings of Perceived Exertion
Developed by Borg, this scale provides a standard means for evaluating a participant's perception of his/her physical exertion. The original scale was a 6-20: the revised scale is 0-10.
*Definition from the ACE (American Council on Exercize) Personal Trainer Manual
How to do RPE:
0 = lying on the couch, doing nothing but being a potato!
10 = running for your life!!!!
You should judge if YOU are working out at a level somewhere between a '7-9'.
This is a simplified explanation but it will suffice. The caveat is you MUST be honest with yourself! If you can sing, you are NOT working out hard enough! If you can carry on an easy conversation...better work harder! Can you only talk in chopped up, breathing-hard, words? You ARE there!
So to Jane and Kathy, this should do the trick! If you do this during your session (that means, rate your effort level) you can then count yourself the 1 point!! Hope this helps!
I am so proud of you all for taking this week seriously!! Thank-you for keeping the thread alive!
My weekly summary post will be next!
Have a GREAT week 2!!
