    Jillian Michaels 30day shred

     Hi!

    I started Jillian Michaels 30 day shred program today.  Basically it is a short warm up then three 6 minute circuits ( each is 3 min strength, 2 min cardio, 1 min abs) then a short cool down.  SO its like a 35 minute work out.  But boy is it toguh (for me anyway).  Jumping jacks, squats, crunches, etc.  I could not do it without resting.

    My question is..  is 25 minutes total enough when you are literally sweating your head off for the entire 25 minutes?

    Also, is that small amount of actually use of hand weights enough or should I supplement?

    PS I am a female  5'6', weigh 207 and am 34 years old

     Hi Kerrywm,

    It's great that you have started a new exercise program!  It sounds like the program is pretty challenging, that's good! Right now it is requiring you to work hard to get through the session,  so I think for now you are doing enough.  You're getting both cardio and strength training work done which will help you lose weight.  As your fitness level gets better, you will have to make things more challenging and also start to incorporate other elements to your program.  You're doing great, keep it up and keep working hard.

    I've been on the shred program for over a month now and I love it!  I'm on the second level (number 3 is a killer!) and I'm feeling stronger and more toned.  I think that it's a much more productive workout than the activity plan I was given.  Stick with it!
